Update on MIL

Hi all -

I’m feeling a bit hopeful because my mother in law is finally in the hospital, although it’s unfortunate how she got there.

I have been trying since Saturday to get her to go because she is vomiting and unable to keep anything down. Today I happened to stop by during work hours because I was hopeful she’d say she’ll go in.

After I left, she text me and said take me to the hospital. I called her and asked if she wanted an ambulance and she said yes. I called 911 and got an ambulance to the house. Her heart rate was 200. They did a chest X-ray and she has pulmonary embolisms on top of everything else. I’m so grateful she is now in the hospital receiving proper care.

My next question is, will this affect her surgery to remove the tumors scheduled on May 20?

It may since they will put her on Blood thinners and it may cause a problem with the surgery ! Good they found the clots .

Yes they postponed surgery and are instead putting her on 3 rounds of chemo first

Hi Emily . I know you are relieved that she is being looked after. It is a blessing she has someone so loving to support her. I pray she tolerates the chemo well. Stay in touch.

They have moved her to ICU due to more issues with her heart. Hoping it’s a good thing she is there so she will get the best care.

They did an echo on her heart and no issues. They say the high bpm is coming from the pulmonary embolisms. She will take more meds for that and continue IV fluids. Meanwhile they’re giving her meds for pneumonia.
