To all those discussions of CA125
No claims of expertise but to understand the different Drs opinions, There is one thing for sure everyone's CA125 number has a different meaning uniquely to their own body, whether low or high. Some have more sensitive CA125 numbers which with slight elevations early cancer is detective where others can have higher CA125 & there is no cancer. So my conclusion is with someone's history of CA125 during previous diagnosis can give a Dr a good baseline to follow along with routine CT scans to diagnose reoccurring ovarian cancer.
This had been my experience, at time of my reoccurrance my CA125 was only slightly elevated & once CT/PET scan confirmed a very small nodule, one lymph node was cancer & surgery confirmed with 16 biopsies of other lymph nodes that tested negative for cancer, That my CA125 was very sensitive that the internal med oncologist couldn't believe so Now I'm being followed by a gynecological oncologist that does recognize that CA125 are very unique to each individual.
