Hi

My name is Samuel, recently closed one diagnosed with stage 1 c Ovarian cancer, prior hysterectomy ca125 level was 358, and post hysterectomy it was 18, Dr suggested 6 cycles of chemotherapy and post with they will monitor ca125 every month. Today had first chemotherapy and it went well. I need to know when is the best time to do CA125, and do we need to do 6 cycles of chemotherapy?

I had my CA 125 checked every 3 months after finishing chemo. My doctor said the studies were not strong enough to just do 3 rounds of chemo. If I stay free of recurrence for 5 years she will say I am cured.

Hi Samuel. I have my ca125 done every three months when I have my port flushed. I had 2 surgeries followed by 8 chemo and radiation. All side effects of chemo are worth the piece of mind that any remaining cancer cells are being eliminated. Best of luck.

Hello Samuel, I was diagnosed with 1c Endometroid OC, had total hysterectomy and 6 rounds of Chemo (taxol/Carbo). Dr was hesitant to give me 3 rounds so he decided to keep the full 6 treatment doses.

Are you on complete remission?

I am still relatively fresh out from chemo as I finished my last chemo about 6 months ago. Last CT is normal.

My mom couldn't do the chemo but her first Ca 125 was normal. Did you have clear cell?

No, Endometrioid is epithelial.

I would do the chemotherapy. The problem with ovarian cancer is that there could be cells left behind.
