I just joined this forum so I wanted to let you know a little about me.

I am 69 years old. I was diagnosed (dx) in April, 2016 and had hysterectomy (along with removal of omentum and appendix plus colon resection) in July after 12 weeks of chemo (I had lots of little tumors all over my abdomen). I was dx with stage 3c high grade serous. I then had another 9 weeks of chemo, finishing last October. I tolerated chemo fairly well. I now get checked every 3 month and so far no problems, CA 125 still very low, it was at 4300 when I was dx so it's a "good" marker for me. I had never really been sick before so there was a lot of things I didn't know about.

I have a wonderful husband and friends who have been incredibly supportive throughout this ordeal. I also got an "angel" from Immerman's Angels that provided so much help for me during the process I would have really been lost without her.

I look forward to getting to know people on this forum and provide support where I can and ask for support when I need it.

Welcome to the group. And congratulations on getting through your first line treatment. Your story sounds a little similar to mine. My CA125 was 6540 at the time of my surgery and indeed has continued to be a good indicator for me. My CA125 now bounces between 6 and 9. While I did recur once, my last chemo was in 2008. I'm a 12 year survivor with no more recurrences since then. It is helpful to be able to connect with other survivors. I too had a wonderful husband and support from friends. But there is nothing like being able to talk with someone who has walked in your shoes. May you have many years of "dancing with NED" - no evidence of disease. :)

Best wishes,

Gwen

Sounds like we have much in common, but I have recurred already and am being treated with Doxil as second line chemo. Time line is similar, Dx in April, surgery in August, more Chemo finished in November. Recurred in February. Not sure I was ever cancer free.
