Confused on what to do
Just recover from your surgery. You've been hurt, you need rest, decent food when you can eat. When you have your next appointment with your surgeon, you'll get more info. From there you can make your next decision. BTW, you shouldn't be lifting even dishes from the dishwasher into the cabinet. Don't make the mistakes I did. I felt better so I went back to doing heavier stuff. I never thought dishes were heavy. Your job is to let the damage heal. Blessings to you Eileen
Hi. I also have stage 1c Ovarian cancer. I had a total abdominal hysterectomy in February. My cancer was found in a cyst which was removed December 16. Luckily path reports showed that it had not spread to my ovaries or indeed anywhere else. I think it was diagnosed at 1c because it was somewhere other than the ovary - but there was also some spillage on removal. I am now half way through my treatment- just carboplatin every 3 weeks. I feel really rough on my treatment weeks but the rest of the time I'm fine. I've had a few problems with my blood but other than that- straightforward so far.
I started chemo 3 weeks after my operation if that helps x
Hopefully this will give you more info
Went to oncologist, told me to wait on chemo said they would do cat scans of pelvic area and go from there. If it should re-occur it would be in the same area my 1C ovarion cancer was found. How can it re-occur if I had my ovaries and all parts removed?! Confused, please help my sisters--HUGS!
There could be microscopic pockets of cells left behind that may stay dormant for awhile and then start growing again. The good news is you are 1C and are likely to have a very good prognosis. Best wishes to you! - Gwen
Thanks for explaining GwenHP seems like the doctors don't want to answer that question for me, going around it!
