Experience with City of Hope Cancer Center?

Hello all-I am actively seeking a second opinion and am curious if anyone has had any firsthand or family member experience with City of Hope in Chicago. Thanks in advance for your help!

Hello. I don't know if this is helpful, but I received a second opinion from City of Hope in California. At the time (staged 3C after mastectomy), the oncologist I saw there recommended the same treatment plan as my oncologist was recommending just in a different order. However, the oncologist at City of Hope encouraged me to ask for a PET scan and possibly a biopsy since I was staged higher than what was originally thought. She reassured me that none of the previous scans showed metastasis; however with lobular cancer it doesn't always show up. I went back to my oncologist and got those tests done. Ultimately, having that 2nd opinion helped me forgo months of chemo/radiation and get on the right treatment plan.

Hi yes i went there for my initial diagnoses. I found it to be a Wonderful place!! Its a long story on why i chose to go there but i have nothing but absolute praise for the place. They provided an affordable place to stay shuttle service to and from The hotel and hospital. They where all very compassionate and proffessional !! Loved the place would highly recommend it to anyone.
