Third Enhertu infusion under my belt as of today. Thank you to everyone who talked about steroids and “the crash.” I asked my oncologist if we could reduce the premed steroids and he gave it a thumbs up. I will let everyone know how the next 7-10 days go. Hopefully I will be less tired for less time. 🤞
I had a little IV kerfuffle today. I have narrow veins and when the premeds started they were burning my vein like crazy. The nurse tried adjusting the flow but it just kept getting worse. The nurse asked if I wanted to change the IV out and so she redid it in another spot and all was well after that. The moral of the story is be your own advocate! And insist your nurse be your advocate too!

I’m onto my 3rd next week. The steroids don’t bother me too much at all, but I’m always so exhausted days 5-15, it seems. I’ll be very curious to see how you feel with the steroid reduction. I may try that. Thank you for continuing to update us on your Enhertu journey!!! It seems we are, both, doing well on it!!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
So thrilled to hear you’re doing well on Enhertu. The fatigue is … well, it is what it is. The fatigue is making me wonky. I’m tired all day then get a 2nd wind around 9 pm and want to exercise. I don’t, I go to sleep, but I wake up a lot. Hopefully the steroid reduction will help with my sleep issues.
I want to sleep ALLLLL the time. I hope it gets better. I’m seeing my palliative care specialist next week. Maybe she has some kind of solution for energy for me. I’ll let you know what she says!!! 🩷🩷🩷🙏🏻
Exercise if you can. Anything, walk to the mailbox, pedal slowly on an exercise bike, walk circles around your home. When I give in and do nothing I am more fatigued. If I force myself to move, I have more energy. 🚶🚲🏊♂️
If you’re getting Benadryl pre-med by IV, tell them to DILUTE it…..it’s a real barn-burner for your veins! Could be they infused that med first and it definitely feels like molten lava. All the best to you 😘
No Benadryl. Decadron (steroid) and two anti-nausea meds. I think the needle wasn’t straight in the vein so it was dumping against the vein wall. After they redid it I was fine. I have scans at the end of the month. If this treatment is working, I’m going to look into getting another port. Makes it so much easier.
No, I didn’t lose my hair, but Enhertu didn’t work for me. It was liking pouring gasoline on a fire and my liver mets grew like crazy. I’m on tredolvy now and hoping for a miracle.
