hi everyone , hope you are all good , I have noticed my skin on my face looking yellow , I have mets in both lungs , I am on Ibrance and Letrozole , my last scan was stable. I have been on these meds for nearly 4 years, I feel very lucky , I just wondered if anybody else has noticed their skin changing whilst on these meds

Have you been tested for liver function changes?
definitely get you liver enzymes checked. Would you say you’re jaundiced looking ? If so, it’s a sign from your liver
Hi Liessie
Please let your oncologist know! You should have some blood tests run. Yellowing of the skin is one of those “you need to report” issues. May be nothing but please let them check it out to be sure.
Hugs to you!
Hopefully it is nothing serious . Good for you to notice . Let us know what your oncologist has to say.
I'm a long timer (20 years with MBC) and one of the "decisions" I made early on was to phone my onc, or other specialist or go to the ER if I even thought of it! Wejust don't have wiggle room when it comes to things like this! And I also immediately thought about your liver when I read your reference to yellow skin. Let us know what you find out............. I hope it can be easily "fixed!"
do you have access to your bloodwork and you could look it up yourself if you are getting tested. Definitely tell your oncologist.
Hi Liessie, my palms, rather than the face, get quite yellow occasionally but not from Ibrance and Letrozole, rather from eating too much yellow/orange coloured foods or those which are high in beta carotene like pumpkin, carrots, kale, papaya, even oranges sometimes. I've asked my onc and he said unless the eyes are yellow, there's no need to worry about jaundice. It's probably just the liver not processing beta carotene as efficiently as it should. My liver enzymes readings are fine. So don't worry too much until you can check your blood works with your oncologist. My regular blood works do include liver function (as well kidney, CBC, bone profile, CEA, cancer marker) tests. If I'm not mistaken, liver function might be standard tests while on Ibrance and Letrozole. All the best to you!
Hi Ingalls, Thankyou so much for your reply, I didn’t think about what I eat , I do eat a lot of carrots and oranges , I am not seeing my oncologist for a while , my last scan was stable, I really think now you have mentioned it, that it could be the food I eat , the whites of my eyes are not yellow. You have made my day ,! I feel a lot better now ❤️
You're most welcome Liessie! Although I've made a mistake, it should read beta carotene instead of Vit B for orange coloured foods. Oh, carrot is real culprit indeed, it makes me turn yellow so fast! And it's wonderful that you've been doing so well on these meds for almost 4 years. I'm on my 3rd year. Wishing all of us continued good health! 💕
