I’ve been on Ibrance and Faslodex for 4-1/2 years. Although I’m thankful that the meds have helped me so far, I would like to know if anyone has found a good shampoo and conditioner to help with dry, straight and frizzy hair, My old shiny and wavy hair changed significantly since start of MBC drugs which also resulted in hair loss. Any recommendations will be appreciated!
Thank you! 🌺

I also have this problem after 2 years on these meds and look forward to reading replies here. Popped on to say its so encouraging to read of your 4.5 years, hope you get years more 🙏 all the best K
I am in the same situation, on Ibrance and Faslodex for 4 years and 3 months . So thankful like you that these meds are working well but my formerly thick / wavy hair has thinned by more than 1/2 and has a weird texture (no longer wavy !) . I do have new growth that sticks straight up like a baby chick - about 2 inches long but this must be growing in as I continue to lose hair ?!
My onc approved minoxidil 5% which I just ordered on Amazon . I will report back my results - good or bad .
I’ve had this same problem for thank God 7 1/2 years of ibrance and letrozole. I have not found anything to help except using WOW cream to style my hair but after couple of hours my hair just absorbs it and I have to reapply. I had thick blonde straight hair and after 26 rounds of red devil chemo my hair grew back white fuzz. I’m so thankful for meds but would love to look a little more put together. I’m finally going to ask oncologist about minoxidil. Have tried everything, hope someone has a solution.😄
I use a package of Hask hair conditioner at most shampoos and it is great for dry hair. Leave it on for 10 minutes. It gives hair a shine too. I buy it on Amazon.
I have been using Routine shampoo and conditionrer, about 2 years ago, after I started with hair loss. I use it 2xs a week and have seen a remarkable improvement. I am only on my 2nd order, because I need only a small amount & the shampoo lasts much longer than store bought. I was impressed with the ingredient list, including pea peptide, biotin and herb & seed extracts. Many ingredients known for growing hair.
That sounds really good. My problem is mostly thinning hair, and I have one shampoo that seems to thicken. I looked at the ingredients in Routine, and they look useful (biotin) but it has argan oil and coconut oil. I can't us those because my hair is very fine and they weight it down too much. Wondering if anyone with fine hair has used it or what they use instead.
In the meantime, I keep buying hats and wear one all the time when I am out. I am much more stylish than I used to be.
I use Redken Extreme Shampoo for Damaged Hair and the coordinating Anti-Snap spray on, leave in treatment. It has done wonders for my hair. I buy from Amazon but I'll link the manufacturer site below.
I’m on Ibrance and anastrozole for three years. My hair was very thick, sraight and now I have two cowlick’s in the front, thin and curly hair. I hate it. It grows very slow and I’ve had two haircuts since September. I used to do every for weeks. But I’m lucky to be alive. My oncologist has not recommended anything to help? Bear to you and hugs!
... finding that right conditioning product is essential; I put coconut oil in my damp hair and have found that to help. My hair is dry as straw now and also frizzy and straight, too. (were you on any other drugs prior to this combo? or is this combo your first line of treatment for MBC? -- I'm on Letrozole alone for 7 years now...and it also dries up every part of me ...). BEST to you.
”Kerastase” shampoo has been great at helping with dry, frizzy hair. This was mentioned by another member here, so I tried and am happy I ordered on Amazon. I’ve been on same meds for equal length of time and even though happy to still be here, resultant side effects do get annoying!
Greetings Sister/Warrior Thriver😇I use sodium lauryl, and sodium sulfate free shampoo's, and conditioners. These ingredients are used in clothing detergents., and are drying, and damaging to our hair. I use natural oils that I blend of equal amounts of onion seed oil, argan oil, castor oil, and rosemary oi🙂. I also use the men's formula Minoxidil diluted to 50% with distilled water. It is more economical this way than purchasing the women's Minoxidil. It cost me around $50- $60 per year👍 . After your hair has grown thick, and to the length you want, you only have to use it every other day, or 2- 3 times a week to maintain the growth result😊. Because my diagnosis was TNMBC a breast cancer that ( was not) hormone driven (Triple Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer) I do take a natural HRT which is made from Yam root, and pumpkin seed. My hair has grown back wonderfully after I did some damaging things to it 2 years ago. I thank GOD that my hair is thick, and now the length is good after 2 years of new growth😇. I am not willing to put in the time to do my natural hair. I really like my care free wigs which go on over my 4 corn rows in 5 second with a wig cap, or a wig cap I cut a hole in the top in warmer weather👍. My wigs need nothing but a 10 second finger comb through or nothing at all. My natural hair takes me a self proclaimed,( perfectionist🙃) 3-4 hours to make it beautiful. I only adorn my natural hair on special occasions. I thank GOD for Beauty Supply stores. Amen I do hope this information helps you, and my sister(s)/Warrior(s)/Thriver(s, and/Advocates🙏😇
