I'm starting Capivasertib tomorrow and curious to know if anyone else is on this or has experience with it. Apparently I’m the first one to use it in my oncologist office. I tried Piqray but had a pretty severe reaction even on a lowered dose. This one is supposed to be a little more tolerable but I’m pretty nervous given my immediate reaction to Piqray.

I had Capivasertib for a year and it was really manageable.
Beginnings were a little rough (diarrhea mostly but Imodium worked well). Also I had a dose reduction after a couple of months and it did help. I had to fast 2 hours before taking the pills and 1 hour after. It might sound “weird” but I miss oral targeted therapy. Maybe because after Capivasertib I started IV chemo and SE wise it’s another story…
Thanks for responding. I’m nervous about it only because of what Piqray did to me. Happy to hear you tolerated it well. I think if this fails I’ll be moving in to IV chemo too.
hi Maraki it was actually a pill called AZD that I got through the clinical trial too. Instead of the shot of Faslodex it was a daily pill. Main side effect was sight changes.
I had a really severe reaction to Piqray after 9 days on it, so I was moved on to Xeloda. Truqap is my next treatment once Xeloda stops working. Please keep us all posted on how you do on Truqap, the side effects as well as how well it works for you. This drug is getting amazing results for many people. Wishing you the best on this medication, I hope it does wonders for you!
I start truqap on Monday. Started chemo. Took two infusions then had Covid which stopped the treatments then two weeks vacation so Monday is it. I was on Piqray for 18 months. A rough medication to tolerate. But I’m ready for diarrhea, hand and foot syndrome and type two diabetes to flare up.
Four days on, 2 times a day and three days off. I am the only one in my oncologist office taking this. I am a pioneer woman.
I am glad you posted -- I posted a similar inquiry about 6 weeks ago and no one seemed to have started it.
My only side effect has been light, occasional nausea which I manage with compazine.
The first CA15 test after I started saw my TM drop 94 points. My onc was pleasantly surprised. She had cautioned me that I might not see any drop for another month or so.
