My CA 27.29 has continued to rise. PET Scan showed nothing abnormal. I've been referred to Stanford Hospital and they will explore with more imagery. I am frightened but want to get to the truth.

CA 27.29 Blood Testl
It is my understanding that CA27.29 is sensitive, but is not very specific. You may have an infection which is making it rise. I'm glad you'll be having other tests. Meanwhile, be kind to yourself and think positive thoughts. Best of luck, Cindy
It is good that you will go to Stanford Medical and have some addl testing . Hazelgreen is right , the increased ca27.29 could be due to an infection or virus . We understand how you are afraid yet want to know what is going on . Let us know how it goes with addl imagery at Stanford .
mine was sky-high once due to inflammation from passing a kidney stone days before. just sayin' ... other things going on in the body cause it to rise as well. I feel like I'm dealing with smoke and mirrors with this disease! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr .... very frustrating! But I have to mention my faith in Jesus is what keeps me going because I know He knows what is best for me and I follow His peace/plan' I do wish He would speak to me in an audible voice at times though! God bless you and heal us all in Jesus name, amen!
amen!
From my understanding many things can cause your 27/29 to rise. One reason many Onc look at this test as a tool and not the end all be all. Inflation, dyeing cancer cells along with many other circumstances can affect this. The big thing to look for is trends over several months. Nice that you are headed to Stanford Medical for additional tests. God Bless
Similarly had three months of incrimental increases on ca 27-29. Pet did not reveal major progression. Had a cirulating tumor blood test (Guardiant) which showed an ERS1 mutation. As we know sometimes the genomic make up changes. Talk to your dr. about the test.
What is ERS1 and what treatment did you need?
It is a protien that attaches to the cancer cell and tells it to replicate. Usually medication blocks the receptor but with the mutation the receptor is always on. When the tumor marker numbers continue to rise Dr..s usually order a PET/CT scan but if that is inconclusive then they either want to do anther biopsy or you can have the circulating tumorcell bloodtest because sometimes the cancer mutates and the biological make up changes and that influences treatment options. Talk with your Dr. and good luck.
Hello-if there is something they will find it but don’t worry because it could be something else. I hope all is well for you and lab tests can be wrong. Please let us know how your tests go.🙏✝️
please update us and let us know if you are okay.
