blood transfusion
My low blood count was because I was losing blood in my stool without realizing it. Once they found the reason and I had 2 transfusions, felt so much better! I couldn’t get out of bed I was so weak before I had the transfusions.
I had 3 of them 3-4 weeks apart in the beginning of treatment (Ibrance/Letrozole). It then stabilised and I haven't had any since February.
My RBC transfusions did perk me up especially the ones I had when I didn't have any chemo. My platelet transfusion was a life saver. They were so low that I had a brain bleed. After a procedure, all was well.
Good luck on your journey.

Last time I was in the hospital in April with nuetropenia I had a platelets transfusion and felt so much better!
well, I decided to get one Friday but still don’t have energy. I started elecestrant a week ago and am waiting on biopsy results to see what else I might start to kill the cancer. In my waiting I feel my body going down hill. I live on ibuprofen, want to sleep all day and feel so weak opening a jar of jelly is a struggle. Maybe I will require another transfusion to get my counts up. Im so worried all my aches and discomforts are even more progression. I just want to stop this beast!
