Hurricane - Hope all are safe!

To all our sisters and brothers in hurricaned areas, my prayers and thoughts are with you! Cancer alone is hard enough, but storms like this have got to add so much stress.

Our youngest daughter lives in the Keys and has been phoning us with updates--so relieved that she and her area are okay. But this gives me a very small window into what it's like to have a go-bag and plans for evacuation.

SEnding love, prayers, and hope to all in the areas hit by this latest awful storm......

We were 43 miles from the eye. It was heading straight for us, so we appreciate it moved. Our yard looks like a bomb went off, with tree limbs everywhere, trees that literally broke in two, and some that pulled right out of the ground. We had just under hurricane force winds. During Irma, we lost power for a week. It was so hard during that one with the heat. When we moved to this house, we had a whole house generator installed. 100% of the people in our area lost power, and it may be at least two weeks before we get it back. I’m so grateful for that generator. It’s loud, but I have air and hot water.

I’m so glad your daughter is doing well. That’s so stressful as a mom, especially if cell service is lost.

Tree limb hanging. One of many.

That sounds scary to me and I'm glad it wasno worse than that for you! We bought a whole house generator over a decade ago---the best "luxury" purchase we've everr made. So much security! We tell near by family to bring us their frozen food when therre's an outage. Sure need heat or A/C!

Yes, especially with the Florida heat. And I’m very appreciative to have my air. There are so many without right now.

We are in Bradenton and merely had wind and rain.It was a bother for my 86yr old husband to get all the windows covered and the lanai curtains in place but he has to do it "just in case".I told him to just keep them in place until the hurricane season ends👍

I’m so glad you didn’t have too much. The county I used to live in also had some wind and rain. The coast did flood, but that’s the norm with these storms. We barely had any rain, just two inches.

Thank you checking in on us. Tallahassee fared quite well considering we could have been a direct hit. Some people lost power., I had two panels of my fence fall over in a wind gust.
