HiI've had two cycles of Enhertu. One week after the first dose I suffered abdominal pain, severe headache and fatigue on days 7. I was in bed for 3 days.
This cycle I'm experiencing continuous nausea from Day 3 to day 6 so far. I've also felt very down.
The only difference between the 2 cycles is that the first one was given over an hour; the second cycle over 30 minutes.
I'm taking Cyclizine for the nausea. In the past this has worked well for me but now it's having little if any effect.
I'm wondering if things will get better in future cycles. Has anyone had these problems with Enhertu and did it disappear over time?

Hi, I’m going on my 5th infusion. My 2nd treatment was all nausea and vomiting for 3 days. No med worked for me. I then realized they had taken me off of steroids. I asked to go back on and within 2 days I was fine. I now take 2mg of steroids after treatment for 3 days and I feel fine. Now my biggest problem is fatigue. It’s awful. They prescribed Ritalin and that helps for about 3 hours a day. Hopefully I’ve given you ideas that might work for you. Take care of yourself🙏🏻
Hi Andersl. I meant to tell you the name of the steroid is Decadron. Yes I also get the steroids at treatment but apparently it’s not enough. I hope this works for you as well as it did for me. Good luck
Since writing my message the hospital has contacted my GP to prescribe me a different anti emetic. I won't know the name of it until I pick it up in the morning.
I like your idea about being in touch with the hospice. I may do that if things don't get any better.
Have you tried Zyprexa 5mg ODT(Zydis) prescribed for me by Palliative Care Dr? There is also an Ativan orally desententegrating tablet they can order. I had to have nausea and vomiting so bad that I ended up in the hospital twice in June-July to get this, it made me sleepy for a while but that was Ok because I had not slept for days d/t throwing up. I had to ask for symptom management through Palliative Care, but not yet on Hospice.
I had my second a few weeks ago. Again, I have no nausea and the asked for the second cycle to be longer. Doesn't need to be 1.5 hours, but longer than 30 min. Nurse said it works the same in 30 min or 1.5 hours. Hope that info is helpful.
I hope you are finding relief with the new anti nausea medication.
I have only had 1 infusion of Enhertu so far. I had a lot of nausea but kept the vomiting at bay. I had steroids (Dexamethasone) day of and Olanzapine. Also Olanzapine as needed thereafter. It’s own side effect is dizzy/vertigo symptoms.
I also take CBD and 1:1 CBD:THC depending on how I am feeling.
The fatigue is really intense but I feel that is my body recovering from the dying cancer cells🤞.
One other thing I started 3 months ago was AG1; it is a supplement made organically from dehydrated foods. A concentration of vitamins pre and probiotics and minerals. There is a doctor in the states somewhere, sorry I am being vague but I can’t remember, studying gut absorptions relationship chemo side effects. This is my 3rd chemo so I think my absorption totally sucks!
The extra nutrition has really helped with side effects and I have had more energy and clearer head. I am not 100% but improved. The one thing is it has 1100% of the daily requirements in biotin so I stop taking it 4 days before my bloodwork. Then resume after.
My very sceptical oncologist of all things “natural medicine “ was even impressed with it and what it is doing for me.
With that the only other thing is increased pain meds for increased bone pain.
I can tell you it has been kinder than AC - that as an on going chemo was hell in an IV!!
My head nurse said Enhertu is the next new wonder drug for breast cancer and just look at all of us starting that path.
Thanks for the info Tammie. How have your tm's been? I too heard that this new drug would be a game changer for so many of us that are her2low. I have had 3 cycles and numbers are still going up. Something is not right. I hope it works for all of us. Blessings
I am in for bloodwork Monday, big appointment Tuesday…I get blood results, talk about my echocardiogram which was not stellar, and on top of that a request to delay treatment 3 by a few days to accommodate a wedding social for my son. We will also be discussing some of the side effects like the extreme pain I had the first 72 hours.
In the end I am hoping to continue and my heart won’t be a factor.
I'm OK but still experiencing poor appetite. I have supplements but they contain lactose - ,something that makes me nauseous on Enhertu. I'll look for dehydrated vitamins etc as you've mentioned (I'm in the UK).
I've noticed that for the next chemo appointments I've been given , the timing is back to how it was for the first cycle- given over an hour not 30 mins.
As my liver has been damaged by the chemo I think that is best for me.
