Well, I had my ears pierced today with my Oncologists okay and my friend who is a plastic Surgeons guidance and approval. I went to Nomad Piercing a reputable spot in NorCal. It felt good to adorn my body and pamper “Me”. I highly recommend it (me pampering time) whatever that pampering may be!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Great to hear! I had second piercings done slightly further up my ears 3.5 years ago (before MBC diagnosis)... make me feel very good. One has never healed properly... but don't you put that off! Take care of them!
Good for you! Mine were done on Wed! He told me to use the starter ones for six weeks and then move to something not too heavy. He told me to twist them daily and to use peroxide on my ear. I feel like I am 14. For humor they seem to have something sparkly on them...not just gold studs. I am laughing that for the $800 for the surgery to fix the one, I feel like they should be diamond specs. Of course, I now fear if I wash my hair, the sparkly will fall off. Hope you are laughing...I am.
Interesting…there are so many different directions. First time for me was exactly as you were instructed - this time they said do not twist, no peroxide, and use a spray saline solution they sold me twice a day. I also did titanium post with a 14 karat gold front (with a sparkle like you I am sure either way we are good to go! Feels good to spoil myself 😌.
My old piercing had torn...years of talking on the phone jammed next to my ear with heavy earrings. So first surgery to stitch it...6 wks to heal then repiercing. In six more weeks, back to light earrings!
Ooh I was thinking of doing this too! Mine have close up twice already over the years so I gave up for a long time, I think because treatment at the time meant it was risky to do, and then I just got used to not wearing earrings. But I miss them now, and think about some pretty ones I have being wasted sitting in a box. My time is feeling a bit limited right now but I am between treatments so maybe I should jump on this moment! Any special tips? I'm on the East coast
I had my ears pierced over 50 years ago and still love wearing pretty earrings....maybe takes attention away from my thinning hair, lol! Got it done my first year of college--the university medical clinic did it for free every Friday at noon! Rather than earrings, they pierced with a needle and surgical thread and left loops of the thread in our ears, and we were told to pull the thread back and forth twice a day and I forget what to clean with. I remember my first two pair of earrings--both lost long ago but now I have too many to count pairs. LOL Hope your ears heal well and soon! Hugs....
Sister/Warrior Isn't it wonderful. to have a new way to adorn yourself.😀 So many earrings , but only 2 ears🙃. I kept asking my mom to pierce my ears from the time I was around 12 years old. My mom finally let me pierce my ears just before I turned 18 for my senior photo😇. I now won't go out without a pair of earrings on. I even carry a pair of hoops in my main bag . Sometimes the littlest things we waited for can give us such joy. 😇ENJOY
I just had another thought. For first few months, as ears heal, wear earrings with gold or platinum studs/hangers. Cheaper metal can cause problems. I just foumd some earrings I'd forgotten about.
