the rash was not shingles . It was just a bad reaction to preservatives in the faslodex injection which was generic. He’s going to go back and order the Faslodex by Astra Zeneca which I had for the first two years and never had a problem. Thank you for all your concern, he gave me absolutely no medication just to let it clear on its own. What scares me is in one week from today I go back for the injections into that rash I asked him if I could skip it he said no. Yikes

hi Ycats277.
YAY!!! that is GREAT news! you get to stay on the faslodex that helped bring you to Remission. and you get to receive the Astra Zeneca version which i'm sure is more 'pure'...i.e. less additives. let's hope your rash improves a lot over the next week. so happy to hear your news💛. thanks for the update. carole xo
Carol you are so nice 😊 thank you , I was so scared I was crying every day your words really meant a lot thank you so much. Yes he is ordering Faslodex by Astra Zeneca only from now on and he was truly very sorry and unaware that his office was ordering a generic and different one said that. He seemed very mad at his office, he kept saying I’ll take care of it you’re gonna be fine now I’ll take care of it is gonna be fine now. When he walked out of the office yelled down a long hallway for the office manager. This doctor does not talk, he doesn’t ever say a word just what is important . If you have a question and it’s not important to him , He waved his hand in the air and says next case that’s not important. But I truly really like him a lot. Everything that comes out of his mouth is important stuff you have to hear. No idle chitchat with this guy. Thanks again you are so kind🌹❤️ Love Stacy
thanks Stacy...very sweet of you. so happy for you that all worked out for the best at your appointment. and yes, your oncologist sounds wonderful. now you can relax...at least for a bit. phew!hugs....

Stacy,
Do you go to an oncologist in North Florida? There is one here that sounds very much like him.
Glad you don't have shingles and hope your rash soon disappears.
There is a local oncologist who has a great reputation but is believed to be on the spectrum. He has waiting list for patients who want to see him.
Best wishes and blessings, Hannah.
My Doc is from Plantation Florida in Fort Lauderdale area . He is a hematologist oncologist and his name is Dr. Jose Melo. I just love him, he’s not a phony, he only tells you what you need to hear and he doesn’t have time for any idle chitchat. If you have a concern you say it and he gets right to it not all around it. I just know if I ever had any kind of problem I could go to him and I would get the best possible advice or service. So highly recommended. My sister’s been going to him for 30 years he is her hematologist he is my oncologist for seven years.
Same thing with my onco. But I do not need them to be my friend and/or therapist, as I realize they have many more patients than just me. I read somewhere that an oncologist is expected to see a patient every 12 minutes.
I know my onco always looks so stressed out. I had to wait for 1/2 hour once to see her (which never happens) and when I mentioned it, she said she had already seen 30 patients that day and it was only 12:30 pm. Yikes.
I’m really happy for you! Hope the rashes clear asap! Have you been prescribed anything topical to apply?I find mineral water sprays help me….Evian do one and there’s another by A’vene. They are literally just mineral water in a hairspray like canister. I’ve used this for heat rash and sunburn, very soothing and brings redness down. Stay positive and focus on the awesome progress that you’ve made!! NED is fantastic and shows the treatments are all working to kick your cancers butt!!,
Best wishes
Love Zoe xx
Thanks Zoe , I’m putting cool wash cloth on the rash , he said you never put anything on a rash that’s not an infection that needs medication,. He said rashes do better healing on their own with a cold compress sort of like what you are doing with the spray. Thank you very much again for your kindness and thoughts, Stacy xx
Wow. I had a bad reaction to a generic too. Scary. Stay safe Reenie
My team don't inject at the same site. They measure from the hip bone but have room to move around a bit. They say doing that will let the injections heal. Maybe ask about not injection the same spot? Maybe not as much of a rash? That ingredient is an oily substance which is why they warm it up and inject slowly.

Hi Stacy. I am so glad that your problem got resolved. Very happy for you. Someone’s guess about generic was right. It usually happens when yiu get a new medication. I was surprised that you have been on it for so many years and it happened. But in your case generic was a new medication for you. Good luck!
Glad you are able to stay on it. Sorry to hear he didn’t give you anything for the rash.😳 Hope you continue to get great results with the Faslodex. It has been a game changer for me after 16 months with Ibrance and Faslodex as first line treatment I am now NED so will continue with this combo to keep things in check.
Hello Stacy--Wow! Glad to hear the news--even tho you still have the rash to contend with. It is amazing the problems some of the generics can cause. I just saw a new oncologist yesterday--at the local university NCI-designated cancer center. And this onc said that fulvestrant was the best estrogen blocker. And their clinic also uses the AstraZeneca name brand--no generics. Here is hoping the rash heals soon and you do not have any more problems. I had a rash after surgery--something I reacted to. It took awhile to totally heal--but did not cause any problems. Try not to worry! Best! Kay
