Crazy question (maybe). Has anyone had their ears pierced while on ibrance? I will be asking my onc but thought maybe a few of you have, and can share any issues (if they came up!)
I am in a personal adornment mood given all the cutting, zapping and drugs these day 🤗.
Thanks!

Are you worried about the potential for an infection at the piercing site? That happened to me when I had my ears pierced fifty years ago but it cleared up by itself although I couldn’t use the hole very much afterwards. I should have seen a doctor and got antibiotics as every time I put a post in the hole a little lump formed. Ultimately I had a second piercing.
I don’t think it’s as likely to happen today with the new ways of making the hole. There’s less handling and less opportunity for hair to get caught up when you twist the sleeper. Modern techniques! Yay👏
I celebrated eight years with MBC by having a pamper day at a beauty salon last month. I had leg waxing done too although it’s winter now so there’s not much opportunity to show off my hairless legs. I definitely agree with your feeling that everything we go through on this journey entitles us to a bit of self love!
Have fun and I hope someone treats you to some jewellery to go in those piercings.
I am all in on the pampering Kerryd22! Just starting the journey with MBC (have had 2 bouts with BC over the past 22 years) and am looking ahead to lots of self 💕!
I’ve been wondering about this as well (am on a different med, but same concern re immune system), let us know what you find out! I was also wondering if leg waxing & pedicures would be any concern (due to potential for small nicks) - though I’m not yet venturing into salons due to Covid precautions.
I had my left ear lobe pierced 2 1/2 weeks ago at Claire’s because during Covid and masks I wasn’t wearing ear rings and my original piercing closed. I haven’t had any issues at all! Just follow directions on the cleansing. I’ve been on letrozole and Ibrance for nearly seven years with low neutrophil and platelet counts, so I was concerned. I’m living my life, not focusing on death.
My left ear had torn a bit years ago as I held the phone with heavy earrings on and I had a plastic surgeon sew it closed about 7 weeks ago...he is re-piercing it this week. I uncovered a stash of earrings that I had in boxes that I cannot wait to wear again. I will need 6 weeks in "trainer earrings," then I can wear them again!
AvidBooklover thanks - Hah! This is my story as well and I am so excited to get those earrings back in my lobes 😊 👂🏻 😊 - do have any good books you can recommend? I am also an avid book reader! 📖📚📖
