Wonderful service!

Two weeks ago, I left my home in West Sussex to stay temporarily in the Western isles if Scotland with my partner pending us finding a property on the mainland. Whilst I have had mixed messages about who does what as far as transferring my treatment, I was amazed yesterday to have a home visit from two lovely Macmillan nurses. They had found our remote home and negotiated the half mile muddy track. They seemed intent on offering financial help and grants which they say are to assist acces to treatment from a remote location. There are also facilities for support such as massage, exercise, meditation... it went on and on. I told them I just want my treatment and checks organised, the rest I can sort myself. But they checked my OBS and wanted to know how I felt etc etc.

I thought this was quite amazing really. How different services are in different places.

Sounds like the district nurse! My son was born in Dumfries after we’d returned from the US. We lived 12 miles outside in Dalton and were there when the plane was blown up over Lockerbie I loved having the nurse come around. Lovely service, you should take advantage of all on offer. I just started massage again so I’m hoping that will keep everything moving around better. Good luck in your new venture, it’s really exciting and I’m envious. Chris

hi Beryl- how wonderful to be treated so well! Please send pics of your spot in Scotland. How idyllic to make a move like this … and brave for not knowing how or if treatment would be adequate. I love that we all can try to enjoy new experiences for as long as we can. Enjoy the peace of if your remote paradise!
