I was in a support group at SHARE in Feb 1993. Later I was told I had stage IV (2 doctors in 1997). Due to my chemical sensitivity, I avoided chemo and radiation, also hormonal treatments. There were two chemo regimens back then.
I explored what was then called Alternative medicine (that included nutrition, exercise, yoga, etc.). Nowadays we applaud the value of these and much more.
I founded Annie Appleseed Project from the summaries I wrote of the meetings held at SHARE by the Whole Health Study group.
Now, we are hosting our 15th conference in West Palm Beach. We have some scholarships for those with advanced cancer. An opportunity to meet and exchange ideas, listen to fascinating talks, eat organic food, all in warm Sunny South Florida.
This looks like a great conference. West Palm Beach in February sounds so nice, but I will be traveling through the Middle East at this time. Thank you Ibrance and Letrozole. I look forward to following your organization and joining a future event. I believe strongly in integrative approaches to treating cancer. This for me includes prayer, daily exercise, a whole food, low fat diet of mostly fruits and vegetables, time with valued family and friends and getting on with Life.
If you are on Facebook, we have a very active page where we post articles, studies, interviews and recipes almost daily. Facebook.com/AnnieAppleseedProject. Also a YouTube channel with some videos of past conferences, and we will post 2023 there after the event. (at least a month later)
Wow, that is kind of you. I felt the necessity to share what I was learning. In the original support group, some very brave women decided to try 'complementary' therapies. They did well, felt better than the others. But it was gutsy to try back in the early-mid-1990's.
