Affinitor and side effects

I don’t know why I’m prescribed this drug. It doesn’t seem to be taken by many and the success rate isn’t high. I got Lymphodema from it in my arm and hand. My mouth and lips are sore in spite of a prescription mouth wash. Is anyone else taking Affinitor and having side effects. I also take Aromasin

I took Afinitor with Faslodex for about one month. I ended up with mouth sores and extreme chest pains in rib cage area. I went to the ER and both docs decided to take me off. I was miserable. No change in tumor markers; just awful. I am now on Xeloda. Starting second month this week. So far minimal side effects. Next onc visit is in January. Good luck hang tough!

thank you for replying. I now have sores all over my scalp. Anyone else?

Yes I am on the same combination. Scalp sores come and go. I also have cystic acne, and see dermatologist on a regular basis. Mouth sores also went away. But no other side effects

Hi. I am also taking Afinitor and Aromasin. After 7 weeks on this combination at 5mg starting dose (Afinitor), my tumor markers went up drastically. My onc has decided to up the dose to 10 mg and blood tests again after a month. Afinitor is a very old drug and it is now difficult to source. My side effects are pimples on face and scalp as well as bloating (have a lot of gas). No mouth sores so far on the 5mg but will wait to see when I’m on the 10mg. I am also experiencing low appetite and weight loss.
