2nd line without Vernesio

Hello ladies,

I’m having a PET scan today and, of course, feeling extra anxious with “what if” scenarios running through my head.

Being mobility impaired, I’m dreading being on Vernezio and experience diarrhea even more that otherwise “healthy” patient.

I’m currently on palbo 125mg and Letrozole.

What is the 2nd line treatment without Vernezio?

Send me good vibes and prayers!

Wishing you all good results!

Thinking of you. Why did I think you had your PET two weeks ago when I did?

Sending you many good wishes and prayers that the scan results won't be as you fear.

I'm sorry, I know nothing about Verzenio and any alternatives, but I do know that people respond to drugs in different ways, so perhaps the diarrhoea won't be too bad for you!

All the very best x

Thinking of you today. Hope you have good results. On Verzenio and Tamoxifen I had a couple of accidents that couldn't be avoided but then the meds for it took control. They send them right away. I don;t know about alterantives.

Cheers, June S.

They don’t always put us on Ibrance snd trhn Verzenio… for me they decided to try to get more out of the CDK 4-6 class prior to failure and so switched me to Verzenio… otherwise if they waited it seemed my markers and others clinical signs were moving in the direction of going to another class of drugs like xeloda… but could be something else depending on what is going on with you if there is progression. I have been happy to be on Verzenio as the diahrea settled to not be a thing after a few months… and I was worried about leaving behind targeted therapy and having cross deal with hand foot or other not so pleasant side effects. I like Verzenio because it is still a pill by mouth ( not an IV chemo) and the side effects can become manageable… I haven’t had to take immodium to manage diahrea since first month. Hope that happens for you too.

Likely faslodex.

My 2nd opinion doc at MSK said that I could have gone to Afinitor (everolimus) and Exemestane instead of Verzenio and letrozole after palbo and fulvestrant failed. Fulvestrant would replace letrozole. Afinitor is a kinase inhibitor and would replace palbo or abemcaiclib (Verzenio). Everolimus does not cause diarrhea; it has other enjoyable side effects:(

Oh, and my primary oncologist said I could go to ribociclib (Kisgali) to stay with CDK4/6 inhibitors instead of Verzenio.

thank you for your reply. Which one you choose?

I am on Verzenio. I wasn't actually offered a choice by my oncologist. It was the MSK oncologist who said she would have done Afinitor first and Verzenio second, but neither has good data. My oncologist just always names the alternatives or next ones, then chooses one. I have had to go down to 50 mg. abemaciclib twice a day. A very little bit of diarrhea on that dose.

well I was first on ibrance and letrozaole for over three years the affinitor and and aromasin for a few months and it didn’t work. Now they don’t want to try anything else just put me on the hormone fulvesterant inj every month. I have two ones that the pet showed some progression to the bones but not to organs. I am just about ready for a third drs opinion . Both of them have not scheduled lab or follow up and my tumor markers did rise 4 fold or more when testing was done 9/15. I’m at a standstill and really don’t know what to do. I don’t understand there are other drugs out there.I wish the best for you at least you are on a medication.🥲

I hope you do not have to switch. It's so stressful. If it is any consolation, I was on Verzenio for 6 months and did not have G.I. problems other than some nausea. To alleviate the nausea, I started taking it at night and that helped. Wishing you the best.
