Today is my birthday! July 11th and today I learned spot on my liver is cancer

Wow! I am trying hard to find comfort in my cancer situation. It is not easy. My onc did not realize today is my birthday when she called to give me the results of test. I choose to look at this MBC glass as half full. So I am glad she called so quickly after my MRI to get the treatment ball rolling. Her voice was comforting and she was clear in keeping me informed. So first step, continue with birthday plans 🥳. Next try not to worry too much and have a big slice of cake. Then schedule radiology visit! This birthday girls wish is for prayers and words of wisdom. I also like good jokes! I will be strong! X

Happy Birthday hope you enjoy your celebrations.I was diagnosed with a spot on my Liver 10mths ago. After 5 cycles of Palbo there was no evidence of active disease in my Liver on the scan and that was also on my last scan.

I too am a glass half full kinda person and some days even forget I have Mbc.

I hope you had a fun birthday, regardless of the spot on your liver!

I didn't check your past posts to see what treatment you are taking. However, please know that not all spots on livers require special treatment. As Lilysue mentioned above, some spots respond to whatever treatment the individual is currently taking. Other spots, like mine, are simply ignored because the liver enzymes remain in the normal range as the liver continues to function well.

Happy Birthday! Hope you have a wonderful day. Try not to worry, a spot on the liver is not that worrisome. As noted before you will get more info when you visit with your Oncologist. If it gives you piece of mind than get a second opinion about going forward from here and the treatment plan.

Well, crud. That's a rotten birthday present. I do like that your doc is on top of things and will be moving forward quickly with whatever you decide to do. From what I've read in this forum (and two others I'm in on Facebook) liver mets are sometimes treated differently, sometimes not at all until your liver function slides. So, maybe she'll just zap it with some rads and play the waiting game. Hope your birthday was special in good ways - cake and all your favorite things to go with it.

We do freak out when we hear the word spread. Mine was last June. After Everolimus failed (6months) I was put on Xeloda. I had the pleasing news 3 weeks ago the Cancer has shrunk and my bones and lungs are stable. The Liver is very forgiving so have faith lovely, go eat lots of cake and celebrate. HAPPY BIRTHDAY XXXX

It spread to my liver in Feb. CT scan. My onco left me on the same treatment plan verzenio and falsodex injections. Then in June, another CT scan and it had GROWN SIGNIFICANTLY in my liver (the report had those words in all caps and bolded). She then took me off the treatment plan I had been on for three and 1/2 years and now I am on tamoxifen and Everolimus. So far its been a month and I go back again Thursday. All I was told is that my numbers are increasing. I hate these drugs. They make me feel so nauseous. What, if anything, do they offer you after that? I am getting to the point that I do not think I want to keep trying new treatments if the medications are going to make me feel so lousy.

Unfortunately Cancer in the Liver is known to make you feel nauseous. My Oncologist has prescribed an anti sickness pill but so far I have resisted taking it and drink lots of water. Ginger also stops me feeling sick. You can buy the pastilles.Think we all dislike the drugs we take. I was so poorly on Everolimus. I lost so much weight and couldn’t eat. It affected me quite badly. I was glad to come of it. With Xeloda I’m tolerating it and I feel stable. I feel a little sick an hour after each dose morning and evening but it passes.

you are strong and emPOWERed! congrats on being another year wiser. wishing you happiness, joy, laughter, and love.for me, with the initial dx, it was 4 days before a birthday. with the mets dx, it was the day before my recently transitioned partner of 18 years birthday. with both diagnosis' he and i chose to remain optimistic, also. we viewed it as a reminder to enJOY being alive. may you be at ease.

Happy birthday! I am 75 years old and was diagnosed with Breast cancer in 2009. MBC in 2019. I have found that "cancer" is just a word and you cannot let that word rule your life. You do what you have to for treatments, but you live your life as normally as possible. Surround yourself with a Positive support group. One that encourages you to be active. And you LIVE. Live each day to the fullest.
