Another Birthday!

I pray all of you are having a great week so far. I had another Birthday and this year I welcomed it with open arms. My pharmacist called and sang me Happy Birthday! I had a great lunch with friends and one shot of Tequila, it was freezing in there. I’m on my week off my Ibrance so I said why not. I did get a small buzz 🤗 Was not driving. I hope everyone is doing good. If your having a Birthday have a great day.💗💕

Happy birthday! Are we not supposed to drink while on Ibrance? My oncologist told me a glass of wine won't hurt. I do have one occasionally

Oh just me, I get dehydrated easily. No I think it’s fine to have a drink, beer or wine. I love tequila and I use a little salt with my shot 😜.Enjoy your wine.

I get dehydrated easily as well! At my last appointment my oncologist said my blood pressure was low, due to dehydration. I've been drinking a lot of more water since then. My sister got me a "smart" water bottle that reminds me to drink and keeps track through an app of my goal. I love it and it's really helping me drink enough water!

How cool is that! Yeah I drink unsweetened tea on ice. I know I should drink water but I still got dehydrated when I did. You can buy all sorts of packs to put in your water. It’s green tea with or without caffeine. I know clean water is better but I drink more this way. I’m just 5 weeks out of my strong chemo, so I’m getting better and stronger. Good luck!!

Our diagnosis gives a whole new perspective to birthdays. We should celebrate every birthday with excitement and hope!! Have a drink!!

I turn 50 this summer and i am one of the few who will be happy to turn 50! I have fought bc since i was 30 and told when i was 32 to "get my things in order". I have been mbc since 2013 and doing well!

It's wonderful to read your note--so often younger women have more aggressive cancers that we older women, so damn unfair, and it is heartening to hear how well you have done. One of my close friends went to Europe to celebrate her 50th birthday--she said being around so much history and really old buildings helped her put 50 into perspective! lol I thought that was a great idea! I hope you get to do something wonderful to celebrate.

Wow congrats to you! I know that sounds weird but you are so strong. You where very young like my Mom. I was older at stage 2 . Found out last summer so a new experience for me. I’m glad you’re doing so well hope for us all. Thanks for your feedback made me feel better..

Happy (slightly belated) Birthday! I hope this will be a great year and that you will celebrate many more. I didn't drink alcohol at all for about the first year and a half or two of living with mbc, but then I realized that I was really missing a nice glass of wine with pasta or a beer with burritos, and I've gone back to having an occasional drink, almost always with a meal and one year I asked for bottles of champagne for my birthday! lol

Belated Happy Birthday, Clair19! Certainly something to celebrate! You share a birthday with a dear friend of mine, a fellow "taurus", which, if you choose to put any stock in astrology, means that your life -- and cancer -- progresses slowly and you have a natural hardiness against disease! At least this is what my astrologer (this is an anonymous website, right?) told me...that my taurus moon indicated that I would not succumb quickly!

Also, I'm glad to hear that alcohol is okay during treatment...My doc in TX indicated same..."go ahead and drink wine!", and so my treatment, now that I think about it, is Ibrance + Letrezole + Prosecco (I'm a lightweight these days!)..."Cheers" to you...maybe I'll pour a small glass in recognition!

Well that’s true, mine is considered slow growing. Heck it stayed hidden for 17 years. So I guess I’m lucky because some go straight to mbc. I’m older so maybe hormones are sleeping.😊. Thanks for your wonderful message picked me up..

Happy Happy Birthday! My daughter was diagnosed with inflammatory breast ca stage IV 3 years ago this week at 37, we celebrated her 40th in Dec. We just came back from Hawaii. She’s living her life!

I hope you are/ can enjoy your life too and have many more birthdays to come.

I’m so glad to hear your daughter is doing good and living life. Inflammatory I know is very aggressive so she is getting great treatment, and prayers. For some reason the younger ones get the most aggressive. I had a cousin 35 when she passed away. My Mom was 30 but lived 25 years with Her2 positive where I’m negative. I wish you and your family nothing but good things to come. I’m way older I had 17 years before it came back to mbc. But I figure with any extra time at my age I’m good! Please keep me posted.
