New to Breast Cancer

I was diagnosed in February 2022. Very scary. Cancerous tumor in my right breast. Oncologist started me on Letrozole 2.5mg to try and shrink the tumor some before removing the lump. Reading some of your comments ease my nerves some. But I just pray and trust God. Prayers for all of you 🙏

Hi, I was diagnosed June 2021 and it’s taken almost a year to stop thinking about it! I think you have to learn to live with it and trust. I now say to myself God knows the end from the beginning and all about us so why spoil today with worry. Coping with side effects of treatment has become the main issue and learning to pace myself. Enjoy the summer weather 🙂🙏💯🌸💕

Hello and welcome. If I’m right from your introduction you seem to have breast cancer but not MBC….while I’m sure this site is great and extremely helpful and supportive I’m also concerned for you not to be getting ahead of yourself worrying about your cancer spreading and becoming incurable….when that doesn’t seem to be the case from the info that you have given.

I wish you all the best for your up coming lumpectomy.

If you need more specific support and information I believe there are other groups on this platform that are dedicated to breast cancer that is not metastatic.

Best wishes Zoe xx

Thanks Cancer is cancer to me . I have loss several people I love that started out as breast cancer. It's a scary situation for me.

Yup absolutely scary for all of us and I’m sorry that you have lost loved ones to the disease. Of course your welcome here….It’s just that information, and discussions here are based on our experiences with MBC. Some people started off with breast cancer that eventually later became MBC so they may have experiences to share with you….but you might also want to consider that we are in a very different situation than you…and no cancer is not cancer as you say….as ours is incurable, we will be doing treatments for the rest of our lives…we aren’t able to have a lumpectomy…take a course of radiotherapy and recover. I wish you well, but I find your approach to be insensitive to those around you here and inconsiderate of what we are experiencing.

So sorry you have cancer. I think Discocat (Zoe) mentioned to see other sites on cancer is because treatment for Metastatic is different than those that get treated with a cure. You may find answers to things you may experience that would fit better and align to your diagnosis. Of course your welcome on this page but you may also want to look at other pages as well, which may be of a lot of help and support. All the best to you, glad your finding hope and support, this is hard to cope with.

I’m relatively new to this too diagnosed 1/2022. I don’t know if you’ll have surgery or chemo. But if you just search breast cancer on this site other things will pop up. Also, breastcancer.org is another good support site, and Facebook has good breast cancer pages too. If I can help in anyway let me know.

You definitively are ahead of yourself. You need to stay on this page as a backup but ask the nurse or your national cancer society for a page related to your curable condition. Sorry that you are going through this worry. All the best,

Cheers, June S.

I was in your position in when I was in my mid 40s, I'm now 73. I had the full works, then and when I felt better I went out and grabbed life with both hands. I travelled the world , and achieved things I'd never dreamt of. Now , I was diagnosed with MBC two years ago, but once I got over the shock, settled into my treatment, I'm doing the same things all over again! Try to treat it as an opportunity not a threat. Go live as much as you can. Good luck. Xx

Lavern:

When I had my cancer in my left breast they offered me not just a lumpectomy, but a breast reduction on both sides. I had a brilliant plastic surgeon, as well as the lumpectomy, and while I was dealing with cancer, I came away with a whole new look that was pardon the pun, uplifting!

Greetings: Sister/Warrior, Thriver, Over-comer👍😇 The time spent worrying is better spent praying to GOD, praising GOD, and being grateful for the blessings , seen, and unseen in our lives, and our loved ones lives 👍😇. 13 years ago the experienced Dr./ Oncologist I saw said I wouldn't live to see 2009, even with aggressive treatment. Well by GOD's grace, and mercy I am still here with NED.😀 I pray the same for you Sister/Warrior, Thriver, and yesss Over-comer Amen!!!

I apologize if my previous post to you sounded, condescending, or like I was telling you what to do. For( me) It is here or heaven hopefully/prayerfully :) asking GOD for no long suffering . My last scan was questionable, and I will be taking another one in June to compare. I am not worried, but enjoying my best life now :) . May GOD continue to bless you, and our loved ones Amen

Keep trusting God. Psalm 56 v 3-4 - when I am afraid I will put my trust in you. I praise God for what he has promised. I trust God so why should I be afraid? What can mere man do to me.

Thank you. Yes that's what I do Trust God.

My first diagnosis was 2015 with secondary diagnosis 2019. I can only say that that I would not be able to walk this journey without God. He leads my walking party followed by my husband, family and Church.

There are two other communities under Health Unlocked you may find more relevant than this one: My Breast Cancer Community, and SHARE Breast Cancer Support.

I wish you luck, and hope, for your sake, that you don't need to come back to us. Surgery and radiation, with luck, may be all you need!

Warmest wishes,

Cindy
