My father has mbc and just had a set back. He is currently on Lynparza since last July and had good response with CA27.29 reducing from 2200 to 126 and scans much better. However tm’s started creeping up and he developed jaundice due to tumor on pancreases blocking bile duct. Testing to be done on tumor, but assuming it is Mbc, I’m wondering if targeted radiation on this tumor is an option? Would love to hear any experiences good/bad on this. We have an appointment with oncologist next week and I’m pretty sure he will be going off Lynparza and onto Xeloda or other chemo. I’m sure that could shrink the tumor as well. Thanks!

Radiation to zap a problematic tumor?
Oh no I'm so sorry this has come up. Eek, I know your dad and I are kind of on the same time line. I know nothing about your query, sorry. I wonder what they will suggest seeing as it seems he will need something done about this asap. Possibly they can surgically remove it laparoscopically? It would be good to get a biopsy if possible, in case it's not what it seems. Please keep me posted. I hope your dad doesn't feel too bad
Hi! Thanks for reaching out. Crazy 2 weeks. Got most recent Pet scans 3 weeks ago and they were very good compared to those prior to Lynparza. Blood showed big spike in liver markers he became jaundiced. We meet with his oncologist next Wed, have lots of questions around radiation/surgery for the tumor or if new medicine is in order. I think his next step will be Xeloda. He continues to feel pretty good and keeps very active. We are praying this is just another road bump in the journey of mbc. I will keep you posted.
How are you feeling? I know last we messaged you were having some symptoms. Have you had any recent scans or bloodwork for tumor markers>
My Best to you, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Chris
