Mum has tumor in her lung and lymph node but this is a first hearing about small lesions..is this def mbc? Am panicking. Full results on weds. She has had 2 years on Ibrance and leterozale now. Thabks for any input as always.

Hi Millie666,

Gosh....I think it *is* metastatic? I understand that refers to cancer that has spread from the original site to "distant" areas. If your mum had/has breast cancer and it has spread to the lungs and/or the scalp (considered bone, I think) or brain, then her cancer has metastasized.

Of course, I'd ask the doctor to be sure.

But, let's imagine it is metastatic...I don't know how long you've been on this site, but one thing is clear....Metastatic disease for BC is a less grim diagnosis than one might imagine.

Many of us have been living...well...for many years and new treatments really are becoming available all the time. So if this turns out to be true for your mum, please keep this in mind.

I was diagnosed metastatic more than seven years ago and have never felt better. And I look forward to the new treatments that will extend my quality of life even further.

I do wish you the best and it warms my heart that you're looking to for your mum, she's a lucky lady!

Take care,

Lynn

I'm sorry to hear of your mums situation.

If it is active cancer I would immediately ask the consultant about Gamma knife treatment.

It has a high success rate. I suggest reading about it.

I had it for 4 small lesions in the brain. They've disappeared. If they come back or new ones appear I can and will have the treatment again.

I Hooe this helps.

Best wishes x
