Scan results stable

I have just had the results call from last weeks CT scan, just as a refresh I was sent for another scan only 2 months after the one that showed chemo hadn't really worked as a few of the lesions on liver had progression whilst on it so I'd been put on letrozole asap and have continued with H&P infusions every 3 weeks.

This recent scan shows that those pesky liver lesions haven't progressed any further and my liver function is normal and tumour markers have levelled out as they had also seen a spike after chemo ended in august. I am so relieved and my oncologist sounded relieved too! For now I remain on current treatment and will be scanned in January.

Best wishes caroline x

Hi! Glad to hear it’s working now! Surprised to hear u weren’t on an AI from the beginning. I’m on H/P as well as Annastrozole. H/P is for Her2 and doesn’t do anything to stop the ER+. So if u are Er+ sometimes u need that med as well. Lucky us! I was premenopausal so I get Zoladex and Annastrozole with the H/P and Zometa.

Yes it is surprising when a biopsy done pre treatment shows I am still hormone positive to not be taking something to address this, scary really! The tamoxifen I was taking prior to Mets diagnosis was stopped in april as it had clearly stopped working. It did always bug me through chemo not being on any hormone treatment.

Fantastic! I keep telling myself that to celebrate the wins. Soemtimes this seems to be an issue of inches, not yards, or if you're in the UK, centimeters not meters. :-)
