I am not sure if it is different in the UK, I have checked with many providers and there is no travel insurance that will cover someone with stage 4 cancer. I am in Canada. Good luck with your search.

In NZ I can get reasonable priced travel insurance… but it excludes preexisting conditions so no cancer treatment. But that will help if you fall and break your leg

Hello Anita,

What are you looking for in a travel insurance? Coverage for any MBC-related conditions or general travel medical coverage?

In US the preexisting conditions are covered if the insurance purchased within 2 weeks after the initial payment is made. Of course, with MBC it’ll still be a point of review and there is a chance that it won’t be covered.

What may help is a note from oncologist to state that you’re in condition to travel and the health issue couldn’t be anticipated.

I got a good deal in the UK through Insurance With, although I have just checked their website and they are currently not taking on new policies- but hopefully they will be in the future.
