We are getting two snowstorms on top of each other here in MA. I’m not getting winter blues though because we leave for Florida in 10 days to visit good friends! Then, we head to Hawaii in February to visit family who vacation there now that they are retired. While my numbers are good, I am accepting these nice invitations. I am posting this especially for new members so they can see that life does go on even with MBC. My dear mother used to say we should embrace the good times to help deal with the bad times. She also said travel whenever you can. I hate hate hate having MBC. But I embrace her wonderful advice. I know this MBC road can be rocky so I am grateful for these opportunities. I wish each of you the grace of loving friends and family, whether it’s a nice travel invitation or a pleasant afternoon cup of tea.

Which island are you going to in Hawaii? I will also be there in February with husband, son, daughter-in-law, 2 grands, and daughter-in-law’s parents. We go to Maui where we have been quite a few times. My d-i-l had a friend ask about joining us and she told me she didn’t want to discourage her but didn’t really want anyone else to come because we all look at this as a relaxing vacation! If we do anything besides beach and sun and eat, it gets planned 10 minutes before we do it! February in Oregon is so depressingly gray that we just go to enjoy the sunshine! And I will continue doing it as long as I can. We went to Europe this fall and will probably do some longer car trips next summer. I’m not ready to veg! Elaine
We will visit Maui. I was there a long time ago and loved it. Wailea wasn’t as developed as I expect it is now. I’m looking forward to having my husband see Maui for the first time. I’m all in favor of your relaxing vacation mind set!
Marthasvineyard - You're an inspiration, and a reminder to ENJOY! Thank you for your post. I NEED to go back to Hawaii, and have miles just waiting to be spent! Thank you for your positive attitude! Best wishes for warm, sunny days ahead!
Sandra - I’m sorry to hear this. What is the issue with travel insurance? Do you mean you want insurance in case you have to postpone or cancel a trip? And they won’t give it to you because of MBC?
Have fun. You are so right to enjoy the good times. Blessings Hannah
Your mother sounds like a very wise women. ENJOY your travels those memories will definitely stay with you.
Enjoy your travels. I love the island of Martha's Vineyard. For my 70th birthday last September I wanted to spend the day on the island. It was a beautiful relaxing day.
September is a perfect month to visit the Vineyard. Crowds are less, water is still warm and the weather is nice
Enjoy the warm weather and have a great time. Perfect timing to get out of the Northeast now!
I am the same way - I want to travel as much as I can while I still feel good.....enjoy your many travels and keep that positive spirit!
I’m from Georgia and I’m taking my two daughters (18 and 24) to New York this month. I used a travel agent and got trip insurance. I don’t know if she knows I have mbc. Oh well! We are looking so forward to it and we hope it snows. We don’t get much snow in South Georgia. Best wishes to all of you! And Merry Christmas!
Warm hugs,
Stacy
Well, that stinks. Sorry!
