Floods here in New England

Been mucking up basement floodwaters since Friday and remediation will be here tomorrow morning.

Having stomach pain since last night, aching pain in back as well. Don’t know if I should go to ER… I live alone. Had a piece of toast with peanut butter.. kept it down. Any suggestions from my friends?

Oh none of this sounds very good. I am the last person wanting to go the ER, so I can't tell you what to do! Im terrible with that, came close to death in my bedroom and refused to go. Ok maybe I'm not too smart. Anyway, yes you have MBC and there could always be something with the pain and that. BUT, you have also been in waste and "im sure working hard trying to clean things up, etc., sooooo anything could have happened to you from that. You definitely need to check it out, tonight or tomorrow AM. Let us know

I recommend you at the very least call your oncologist now & ask for the on call doctor to reply.

If not, call first thing Wednesday. Report your symptoms and follow that advice.

If however you believe the pain is unrelated to your physical labor from cleaning the mud away, and is more than muscle strain in your back, please don’t hesitate to go to ER.

If my memory is correct, you are in VT. I don’t think VT hospitals are swamped as I’ve read that the state has done a good job with vaccines.

Please, keep us posted.

Tam - how are you today?

So sorry to hear your flooding. Life always brings some struggles, but this shall pass. Try deep breaths and give a call to your onocologyst nurse. It could be just be a pulled muscle, but good to check out. It will definitely make you feel better 😁

Always a good idea to get checked out

Even if it’s not cancer related, flood water can have nasty bacteria that causes stomach upset. I agree with the ladies who say get it checked out. Be careful out there!!

It sounds like you may have pulled muscles you don't usually use.

Myself, I'd be concerned if it came on without having done anything different but you give avery plausible cause ... mopping up!

I'd make a call to the oncology team to get it on record.

Then give them muscles some tender loving care. Relaxing baths and pain ointment rubs and no mopping until they're recovered.

You say you're on your own. Is there a friendly neighbour who can help? Most people would jump at the chance of helping other s. It gives them so much joy.

Looking forward to your update :)

Thank you for your helpful recommendations. Your 24/7 support is a lifesaver! I was so scared but you all grounded me.

I am feeling better now as stomach pain is gone… it sort of worked its way out of my system over three days. It was awful … house still smells unhealthy. Remediation team will finally be here tomorrow to help with basement cleanup and will include an environmental hygienist to take air samples and do further mold/ mildew mitigation. I did contact my clinic to let them know what’s going on. Thank you so much. ❤️

I am sooooooooo happy to hear you are feeling better, and someone is coming to take air samples :) at in your basement . I have some severe allergies, and mold :( & bacteria :( they are not a friend to me :( . I use a bleach & water solution to clean everything. I spray bleach solution on the floor when I sweep to keep dust mites, and dirt from causing breathing or skin breakouts. Yesssss I am thanking GOD for natural anti-inflammatory's & antihistamines., and clean H20 and bleach . May GOD bless you as we navigate this mostly great, and sometimes bumpy road. Amen😇
