Taxol

Hi girls,

Has anyone been on Taxol/carboplatin combo for a couple months then moved on to oral chemo?

Doc says moms cancer is now becoming hormone resistant and wants to act fast.

I hope your Mom does well with her treatment. She may need some help due to fatigue.

Yes. I was on carboplatin/taxol in 2006. It was tough but helpful. Then I went on arimidex/ herceptin for 10 years. Now I’m on fulvestrant/herceptin .

Thank you so much for your reply!! Where are your Mets? Was the taxol your first treatment ?

I’m so worried because she was in ibrance and femara 3 years ago it lasted 7 months then faslodex 2 years then afinitor which didn’t do anything for 5 months and spread to lung.

Doc says he wants taxol to reset everything and then go back to oral chemo. And not hormone therapy

Hi Maraki,

Taxol sounds like a good approach based on what I’ve read. Many have had good results.

My mets are bone only. Yes Taxol/herceptin was my first treatment.

Yes I was on carbo taxol for about 6 months. My numbers we’re going up instead of down so we switched to xeloda. I have been on xeloda now for several months and have seen my numbers go down. Very few side effects other than fatigue.Good luck.
