I was DX in august 2017 with primary BC er/pr positive and HERS negative. In August 2018 I had my MBC DX and went on to zoladex monthly / letrozole and Ibrance. All stable scans. And considerable decrease. The ONC suggested I stop zoladex and letrozole for 5 weeks to do a blood test to see if I am post menopausal to stop the zoladex. Has anyone been through this as worried to stop letrozole. Albeit I read if you are post menopausal Zoladex does nothing … also my last cycle was in November 2017 and my hair is so dry - so I think I am post menopausal but they need to be sure. Advice thoughts grateful.

Testing if I am post menopausal
Hello 🌺 I was diagnosed in October 2018 with metastasis in my left pelvic hip, I started the zoladex right there. My last period was in Nov 2018. I have had Zoladex implants since that monthly date. I am 53 years old and the doctor does not believe that this menopause has stopped the treatment yet. She doesn't want him to stop taking the medicine so as not to risk the treatment. There was talk at one point in removing the ovaries but for economic reasons we have not done it yet. What is the test about?
I was pre-menopausal so on Zoladex but then had a period (so it wasn’t working) and taking Letrozole in that context was stimulating my ovaries rather than suppressing them 🙄 So I had to stop the drugs for a few weeks before having my ovaries removed. I was assured this was fine but raised same concerns as you, which I think is understandable.
