Verzenio side effects
Good evening. Have you ever tried Lansoprazole? My mom and I have chronic gastritis and of course acid reflux was a big part of our stomach issues. I know Prilosec is kind of strong but it’s different. Lansoprazole helps a lot. Every morning 10 mins before meal and at least for 4 weeks. I promise it’ll help. You need prescription for it…
Prilosec once daily was a lifesaver for me when I was on IV chemo & Ibrance. I switched to Pepcid AC (Over the counter) twice daily when I stared Xeloda. It works just as well. Hope you get some relief!!
Hi Ive been on Lansoprozole before MBC diagnosis for acid reflex etc and it has totally helped with everything gastric. No side effects re gastric from any of the Chemo etc. Worth a try, it takes a few weeks to kick in but i really feel it has saved me from side effects.

Im on double dose of spironolactone 50 mgs (x2) before dinner and two seems to work well for me. I understand the diarrhea only last two weeks then gone??? That is my next drug when I get off of IV taxol. Keep us informed. I am so very sorry that you feel awful. I can deal with this MBC as long as I feel decent (no pain, fever, or stomach upset, etc). I am not a good patient. I wanted to be on dexilant but the price is ridiculous!! $390 copay on medicare for 3 months--they are kidding right? ?and that is with Good RX! Medicare was double. So, first I tried one pill which did not help, then went to two which seems to do the trick after only a couple of days
OPS sorry, wrong meds. I gave you name of my diuretic!! My reflux pill is Protonix 20 mgs times two at dinner/the generic name is Pantoprazole.
Oh Andi I am sorry you are experiencing these side effects. I hope the responses you have received help and that you will see an improvement soon. Sending 🤗
Take Imodium for the diarrhea and drink plenty of fluids. My NP said to call her if I have more than 4-6 episodes of diarrhea in a day or if I feel lightheaded or weak. Bananas and cheese can also help.
For the acid reflux, Nexium, Protonix and Prevacid are all available over the counter. They used to be prescription. Tums is ok to take but definitely not as effective. Avoid spicy and acidic foods, eat smaller meals and don't eat within 2 hours of lying down for bed.
Diet is important. Know your trigger foods. I cannot eat ice cream, fried or very hot a d spicy foods. And if I do I take Imodium before and maybe after. On bad days, it’s definitely bland, white foods. Wishing you luck!
Thank you all very much. I've resumed my meds and have an arsenal of remedies and bland foods in the kitchen. You guys are the best!❤️
I take Pantaprazole once daily for years now to protect my stomach also if I fell unwell I ake a Gravol. Works very well for me. I am on Verzenio 100mgs. now almost over my second week very little problem.
Cheers, June S.
Sorry to hear you are having issues on Verzenio. How long have you been on it? It can be very bad in the beginning, but then suddenly, after about 4 weeks, it clears up. Just keep the Imodium handy and use as directed.
On the acid reflux, when I started taking 4-6 Pepsid each day, I asked the Nurse Practitioner about it. He suggested Nexium. I just take one little pill each morning now and I seldom have issues. Wen I do (once or twice a month), I still have the Pepsid for that.
Good luck! It is a wonder drug.

Thank you for your response. I've only been on the drug for a week. I'm looking forward to some relief. I remember Ibrance doing this to me. How long has Verizon held you stable? Do you take it with anything?Thank you again for your help! All the best! Andi
I have been on it for just about 2 years. I think it was the first 4-6 weeks that were the worst. Then suddenly, it was all better. Just be patient. Remember the drug is helping you! I take Alpha Lipoic Acid to try for relief from the issues with my hands and feet (lack of feeling). Not sure if it works, but I will try anything!
I've been on Ibrance for 3 years which caused a bunch of different GI issues which I never had before: constipation, diarrhea, gas, intestinal/stomach pain. I've been taking 250mg of magnesium daily, and it's worked wonders. It's cheap and easily available and certainly worth trying,
Talk to your doctor about switching up your meds please.
I was on Ibrance for only three months. My week off was hell. Since then put on Verzenio. Stopped two weeks in being on the 100 mg. and I think then it was the 75 mg. twice per day. I could not handle what you reference above. She then put me on the lowest dose and told me it was the lowest dose. I felt so much better. No napping anymore. Supposed to be taking two a day, on in am and one in pm and then on week I completely forgot to take the second dose and now (I know, my own decision) for almost a year and a half I only take the one dose in the am and no problems. But in the beginning at those higher doses, it was awful and I thought Oh no. No quality of life. So so far, the one 50 mg. dose in am seems to be okay. Mine is in my lungs and spine and still have the tumor in my breast bc I was diagnosed at stage iv.
