VERZENIO question

Anyone taking VERZENIO and having hair problems. My hair is like straw with kinks. Nothing I have tried helps it. They tell me that my hair follicles are distorted because of the meds I am on. Does anyone taking Ibrance or VERZENIO have this problem. I have finally resorted to a wig. I also take tamoxifen along with VERZENIO 100 mg. Please let me know if anyone is having this problem.

Hi - I've been on Verzenio and Letrozole for almost 2 years with excellent results (NED for a year - yay!) but the normal side effects. Intestinal issues, brittle nails, and hair just like you've described. After my Dad commented that my thin gray hair was very aging (gee, thanks, Dad!) I tried an over-the-counter hair color called Olia by Garnier. It really helps the texture of my hair. It's stick straight when it used to be wavy but it's soft and not nearly as wiry as before. I also had a few extensions put in to give it more volume. I hated the constant reminder every time I looked in the mirror so this helps me a bit.

Hi,

I have been on Verzenio for almost two years. I noticed in about March of last year that my hair has stopped growing---completely! Certainly the hair is going to be dry and start to look "old" when it is the same hair for more than a year. It has also thinned out quite a bit. I used to wash my hair every day and I have now stretched that out to once every three or four days. It actually looks much better on the forth day. The curls look great and it has some brightness to it. Look for a shampoo designed for thinning hair, and then only use it every fourth day. It's hard to get used to this, but it works!

I have had this same changed hair over 3 years. I hated it a long time, especially when people without any clue of what l was going thru laughed about it @$^*%$@! I am finally getting some peace about it. This hair needs alot of moisturizing/conditioning - you can't give it too much. Some people use coconut (buy a jar at whole foods or health food store. Summer weather is especially hard on this hair. The hair changes somewhat with seasons and with time.. Shorter hair is better than long. I can tell you what l use: Currituck texture treatment - work into hair leave it on 30 minutes rinse off in the shower, do this once a week at first, when your hair gets better you could do it less; Noodle Head, Beyond the Zone leave in conditioner cream - use as directed; Currituck moisture rich leave in conditioner - its a yellow non aerosol spray; for fun l sometimes spray on a generic value spray called Shine from Sally Beauty supply. All these products came from Amazon or the beauty supply store. I am going to look for shampoo by the Curlific company. I was trying to straighten the hair somewhat with hair straightening shampoo and product - accepted failure finally. Good luck coming to terms with your hair - if l can do it (some/most days) you can too!❤

Correct spelling of the hair product is Curlific.

After writing this, I got a tip about olive oil. It told me to warm some olive oil in the microwave, then apply to my whole head. Cover your head with a shower cap and leave it on for 30 minutes. After that rinse and shampoo without conditioner and style. I couldn’t believe the difference. It’s the first thing that has worked any way on this “hay hair”. It really doesn’t grow very much and the under neath hair is like I had a perm. This did really help my present condition, but I’m willing to give your treatment a try. Thanks for the great information, but in a pinch, the olive oil is a simple help for treatment. Thanks again for your response. Kathy from Syracuse❤️

Thank you, that's a great tip! It's all about getting moisture to the hay hair. I love your terminology it describes the hair at its worst exactly!

Hi, I’m on Ibrance and Letrozole and my hair has gone very wavy but in clumps. It’s a little thinner than it was but in good condition. It needs a good cut now though. Hope this helps. I’ve been Ibrance for 2 years.

I've been on Verzenio for 3 years. I shed more hair than before, but my hair is very thick. For the last 9-12 months my hair has gone from one slightly wavy area to 3/4 of my head curly. Not the whole head though! 🤣
