Help, my mom is on week 4 of Verzenio, 200 mg 2x daily, and is sooooo sick. Vomiting daily, diarrhea (which we expected), extreme fatigue. She is stage 4 with mets to liver, hip and spine. The onc office says she needs to drink more fluids but I feel like it's more than that. Any suggestions?

How long does Verzenio side effects last
I was on 150 mg for 1 1/2 rounds. Even tho my pain stopped within 24 hours of first dosage, it destroyed my GI. My oncologist told me last week that of all his patients on Verzenio, only 2 could tolerate it! I lost 17 lbs., couldnt eat, had the worst GI issues and finally got so sick and weak, I told my husband just to let me go! I'm now on 100mg Ibrance after one round of 125mg (immunity dropped and latest research article said 100mg works just as well with less possibility of immunity issues.) I was given Imodium to take with each Verzenio tablet and went from intense GI issues with diarrhea and vomiting to 7 days of constipation. Horrible!
I wasn’t on Verzenio but just had 28 days of what started as nausea but evolved into vomiting daily up to 6 times a day. It was an empty stomach so vomiting was painful.
I’d engage w her doctor. I ended up not eating for 5 days, vomiting, weight loss...in the hospital for 3 days. They took me off all meds. Started me on something new a week later.
There are options for reduced meds, other meds. Just discuss w dr as soon as you can. Being sick like nausea can have such a mental well being impact. I know I started to think it was dark in the tunnel. Once all those side effects were gone, I saw the light. ❤️
I had the same issue. Lost 9 pounds in 10 days. Dr prescribed anti nausea med. That took care of my problem.
Thanks everyone. We saw the onc yesterday and they reduced the dosage to 300mg daily. Hoping that does the trick. She had new growth with Ibrance so this is the next attempt at stopping it. She has been taking the anti nausea meds and Immodium but still having issues. Praying that the decrease in dosing makes the difference.
