I have some recent experience with Navelbine. I had mixed results, but my situtation is different from your's . Navelbine worked well with by bones - resolving some areas, keeping me stable in others. Unfortunately, I had progression to my liver, but I've had an ongoing problem in the liver - progression, then new treatment resolves it, so who knows what was lurking all along. Also, I have two types of breast cancer - HER2+ and HER2-. The good news for you is my oncologist said that many people have a very good response to Navelbine. I'm hoping you're one of them.
The side effects were not bad at all. Only constipation for me, but there are many remedies for that. Another piece of good news - you don't lose your hair.
I wish you well - hope Navelbine works in your situation for a long time.
thank you so much for your reply and encouragement! I hope this therapy will work longer than the previous one...very nervous because I don’t have many options left!
I used a cold cap to save my hair and worked great with Abraxan and didn't lose any hair. I asked my oncologist if I should continue to use a cold cap and he says yes!!interesting that my doctor didn’t even mention this chemo in pills form! Maybe he thinks I need stronger therapy, but will definitely ask him!
I wish you all the best in your further treatment💕
One more thing - I was two weeks on, one week off. Maybe weekly infusions will give you a better result. My oncologist tends to be conservative in terms of frequency.
unfortunately the therapy doesn't work and TM climbed from 88 to 263 in a month, so something is happening! TM are always a good indicator for me! currently 2 weeks I don't take anything on Monday is pet/cat scan so we'll see what's next! I don't have a lot of options but I hope for a miracle!
Dearest Sebina,So sorry for your disappointing news. How many different lines of treatment have you had now? You have had MBC for over five years, so that shows that the treatments have extended your life and that your body is receptive to new ones.
I just started my third line of treatment a few days ago, Xeloda. It's always such a letdown when a treatment stops working, and I'm hoping that I don't develop the hand / foot syndrome.
I'll be praying for you, Sebina, and hope that your oncologist decides on something that will last a long time! May God shine His healing light on your life!
