Very long day - at the hospital from 8 to 4 - port fitted successfully in my chest - sits under skin! Also had first IV chemo & used cold cap to try & avoid losing hair. I’m knackered now ... next Friday should be easier - they are planning on me having Covid test, bloods & IV on the same day - as I’m currently still under the label “trial” how fortunate is that?
Thanks again for all your very helpful comments.

So glad it went well, I remember the tired feeling too. I felt quite good the next day from all the steroids, however on day 2 I was tired and slept most of the day. So don't be fooled if you do feel good, take it easy on yourself and rest as much as possible xx
That was a long day at hospital...but going forward will be great to get your tests and chemo on the same day.
I finished 5 cycles of pacitaxol in March and managed well. No side effects apart from tiredness on 3/4 day after each dose - just rest when you need to. And it done an excellent job for me.
I’m in Twickenham, not far from Windsor....I’ll be thinking of you over the next months when your going thru your treatment, take care x
Thanks for your helpful reply. Where did you have your treatment? I was originally under Wexham Park/Windsor but moved to Mount Vernon when I went on a trial and I’m staying with them under the label trial for now....
Perhaps we can meet up sometime.
I’m on Instagram jowilliamson7428 if you want to find out more about me.
Would love to meet up sometime...see how you feeling on treatment and let me know. Happy to drive to Windsor or nearer to you as I’m feeling back to ‘normal’ now.
It’s hard to talk to people who aren’t in our situation....I don’t want to bore/upset/confuse people and would be nice to see others who understand.
Jo, I saw coverage of the Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral on TV yesterday. It was a perfect spring day in Windsor. I hope you managed to enjoy it after your marathon day at the hospital. Rest up. Vicki
I watched Prince Philip’s funeral too. The weather was glorious - I was so pleased. Very sad day, he was a huge support to the Queen and did so much for Great Britain and the Commonwealth, yet still had time for interesting hobbies and his family, particularly his grandchildren. I love our Royal family and they work so very hard, putting service before self.
The Queens actual birthday is Weds 21 April when she will be 95 - I’m sure she will miss her beloved husband so very much...
Hi JoThinking of you and hoping you are njoying the UK Sun when you can. I live in the North East of England in a Seaside Town and for once our beach is Sunny this weekend hurrah, just as well as it looks like the Costa Del Sol with all of the outdoor seating at the moment . Normally I wake up and have to work through the North Sea Fog to find my way lol. Take care xxx Debra
Hi Jo!
I'm late to the game here, but wanted to catch up on *you*, your situation, and let you know that I'm thinking of you and hopeful that the treatment goes well (and that your hair does well, too!)
Truly wishing you the best! (heart!)
Lynn
Good luck!
I did cold caps on 2014 before they were widespread in the US. It was challenging finding a mole skin cap, etc. I kept my hair though.
