My doctor's office called with the results of my scans on Thursday. (I'm so glad they did because it would have been difficult waiting until my appointment on Jan 13). I had reached NED status in August and was on pins and needles again with this scan. My CA 27-29 tumor marker had risen two months ago by about 25 points. It has since come back down by 10 points but still not at the lowest it had been which was 53.
I was diagnosed Nov 2018 and started Kisqali Feb 2019. So far it has worked well for me.
Anyway I'll try to relax and breath easily until the next scan.
Here's to NED for us all!

A good way to begin 2020! Congratulations to you and your loved ones. 💃
Can you share anything else with us that may be attributing your great bloodwork and successful scan results aside from Kisqali meds ie., diet, exercise, meditation?
My oncologist said that Kisqali was less dangerous for blood clots than Ibrance. I had had a blood clot in each leg when I was in rehab to recover from breaking both hips. That is how the MBC was discovered.
I broke one hip and had a partial hip replacement and three weeks later the other one broke and I again had a partial hip replacement. It has been quite a journey.
Audrey! That is truly amazing, I'm so happy for you! It sounds like this is your first-line treatment...Would you mind sharing what mets you had when diagnosed?
That's fantastic! Bone only and NED! My sister's been NED (with triple negative) for more than 2 years now, I think! I noticed that you exercise regularly...just like my sis. I have periods of good activity (like physical labor and/or lots of running around) and periods of laziness. But I'm sort of formulating a hypothesis that there are cases where "simply" keeping the blood and oxygen flowing to what is a pretty indolent cancer to begin with, can be effective. My sis and I are part of a study for "extreme survivors" and they asked about exercise. But they also asked an open-ended question re: "why do YOU think you are doing well?". I'd love to see those results, but they're not shared...
Awesome. I pray for that for all of us. At one point I was going on 11 years with NED but then that crap raised its ugly head again. Hoping for another NED for 11 years or more!!! Enjoy this moment.
YAYYYYYYYYYYY This is a Happy, and Healthy 2020 New Year for you, and your loved ones. Also I bet this is the best belated Christmas gift ever. C-E-L-E-B-R-A-T-E.
