I use a variety of things throughout the day, including Nivea and Aquaphor....I find myself putting some kind of lotion on about every two hours! My hands aren’t red, but I am losing a lot of sensation because of the Capceitibine....

I have a lot of trouble opening things....my husband is here from Germany for a few weeks, and I’m using him to do it....also the grabby things that help with jars....some flip off tops I just screw off, and I use a fork or some kind of lever for soda cans...

Sorry you are having those problems. Not so nice. Can your doctor reduce the dose perhaps? How are your feet? Wishing you well. Check with your pharmacy.

Cheers, June S.

Sounds good. Hope it helps. I couldn't take Xeloda. Had a bad reaction to it. I was so hoping it would work out. Now it is on to the next meds for me.

Cheers, June S.

Helena,I drink 64 oz of water daily, I put a variety of lotion on my hands & feet every few hours. You my ask your Oncologist if they would either lower your dose a bit, or go to the 7 day on, 7 day off regimen which seems to help w/Side effects. I also ordered some white cloth gloves to wear overnight when the itching & peeling was bad for a few days. Best of luck!

My hands and feet were in terrible shape. I could barely walk from the pain. My oncologist prescribed a steroid cream to put on twice a day and that has made a difference. I am now one week on and one week off. I hope you find some relief.
