Mine are the same, especially winter time! I think IBRANCE is the cause of it. I use lubricant drop on them, they get better summer time.Sima

I’m on Capecitabine also and my eyes are always dry and watery. They water in reaction to the dryness so my eye doc recommended a lubricating eye drop. Don’t get the kind that gets the red out, just the lubricating kind. It helps some although some days are worse than others. As with most cancer medication, Capecitabine makes your tissues very dry!

my onc and eye doc call this dry eye, which they say can be a result of chemo, ibrance, or a combo of both. it's very annoying, especially in the colder weather. sometimes a tear runs down my cheek for no reason, and sometimes my eyes are full of water. i use systane. the eye doc said if you get a product for dry eye, get a good one. it helps. do be careful about wiping your eyes with your hands. make sure your hands are clean, so you don't pass infection into your eye. i ended up with a bacterial eye infection, and had to have medicine for that, which meant a week off of ibrance, though no harm was done.

I have this too! Tears run down my cheeks sometimes. I had no idea it was Ibrance. My eye doc tells every single patient over 50 they have dry eye and tells them all to use drops. I was skeptical. I didn't realize runny wet eyes could be due to dry eye? So I didn't use the drops for long. She said my tear ducts were blocked, and that it is too unpleasant to unplug (through the nose), so I should live with it. Just good to know it is just one of the side effects of the meds that are keeping me alive and doing well.

I found the OTC eye drop Systane helpful for dry eyes! My optometrist recommended it for me and he was right on!

If you get good advice from your opthalmologist share it on here please...I think other ladies are struggling

I, too, am on Capecitabine and my eyes are always dry and watery. I do use Systane GEL drops twice a day but still have a big tear run down my face quite often. Some days I don't have a problem at all. I am glad to know the cause of this. And the cool weather outside does increase the problem. Thanks for the post.

I wear contacts, so maybe they alleviate these symptoms a little...my eyes are a little crusty at night, but not much of a problem in the day...I’m on Capecitabine too.
