HiVerzenio did not work for me. It poisoned my body and I was very ill with chronic diarrhoea and sickness for 2 weeks. Lost a huge amount of weight and have been left with a recurrent e coli infection 🙁. Changed to faslodex and ibrance and body responding much better. I take at 9pm everyday and so sleep through any side effects. Take care and sending positive healing vibes 💜💜
I have been taking verzenio with faslodex for about 4 months. It is not easy to separate out symptoms when you start two things at the same time. I have found it OK. However I recently had to stop taking it for 4 weeks while I had an operation, and found that I have more energy and feel less tired..
Hello - Verzenio was the first line of treatment that I received in 2018. After 72 hours, I became very ill, dehydrated and had a toxic reaction that required two days hospitalization to get back on track. After a break, resumed with a lower/divided dose and still felt very ill and ultimately discontinued permanently. Switched to Ibrance and it worked beautifully for over two years. There are members on this site that have shared good experiences with Verzenio, so everyone reacts differently to these meds. Be sure to advise you oncologist of any side effects immediately. Hope that you have success with minimal side effects. Take care and healing thoughts to you.
Hi and Happy New Year to you! I was on Verzenio for almost five months. I was started at 150 twice a day, which was eventually lowered to 100 2x day because of the diarrhea. I eventually managed the diarrhea with loperamide but it was challenging and interfered with my active life. LIke one of the responders below, I was simultaneously taking Faslodex shots and she's right -- it's hard to discern which drug causes which SE. As my tumor markers began to climb and the recent PET scan showed some movement, we decided to switch meds. I'll soon start micronomic dosing of Xeloda and am hoping for an easier time (and, of course, good results!) It's been a week I've been off Verzenio to get my body ready for new treatment and I feel so much better: no diarrhea, much more energy. Wishing you the best, Ellen
I started on Verzenio in July of 2019. I take 150 mg twice each day (6 and 6). I also started Faslodex and Zometa at just about the same time. The early few months were really bad. Daily diarrhea. I was able to control it with the over-the-counter med that they recommended (they actually send a few bottles with your first months of Versenio. Stick with it! After those first few months it really settled down and I rarely have problems any longer.
There are multiple other side effects that may or may not be the Verzenio. These include small hair loss, weak nails, and neuropathy in the hands and feet. There may be other things as well, but I try not to read through the entire list!
As long as this is working for me, I am going to stay on it.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I am seeing diarrhea as a side effect from a lot of ladies, as well as tiredness. Next week I start radiation to the breast. I heard that will also cause tiredness towards the end of the treatment period.
