The pathology results came back from my 12/4 surgery and I am relieved, to say the least! The tumor was removed with “clean margins,” and only the one lymph node, known to have cancer, was cancerous, out of 18 that she removed.
This was news that I was hoping to hear, but was afraid that I would not. It has been a long, emotional and stressful 13 months, but I do not have to tell you ladies about the “roller. coaster,” as you all know.
Sincerely,
Colleen

That is excellent news! Congratulations. You must be so relieved to learn that you do not have metastatic breast cancer. All the best to you as you recover and move on with your life.
Whoopee! Just seeing this now. That is wonderful news. So happy for you. Makes a great end to an awful, stressful year in so many ways. I was really interested in your report about the lymph nodes. I didn't know that they were not all cancerous. Thanks for your post and happy holidays to you and yours.
That is such good news. But make sure you keep getting scans in the future. I didn't and my cancer metastized. I had a lumpectomy and I also had clear margins. My GP did ask for scans and three years later I learned that it had spread to my bones and that I was stage 1V. I am doing well but just want you to be happy but also take care and make sure your doctor sends you for scans every six months. You deserve the care. Hugs Vienna
I, in know way feel that I am “out of the woods.” My oncologist is looking at putting me on Verzenio because it had spread to a lymph node, and he wants to prevent distant spread. I don’t think I will EVER relax, just having been through, and still dealing with, cancer.
Be as well as we can be and be good to you yourself❣️
Correction....my GP did not ask for any scans after I had my lumpectomy - so in spite of clear margins three years later I had mbc. Make sure your doctor makes you go for regular scans. By the way, I got rid of that doctor. What an irresponsible doctor. If mbc is caught early it is cureable. Hugs Vienna.
I am sorry that oncologist you had was so incompetent, and now you are facing MBC. Thank you for your strong advice. I will TAKE it, and be sure to have regular scans.
Colleen, I wish you the best of luck. I have a friend that had a breast removed and had clear margins and no spread to the lymph glands. She has refused all drugs and further treatment and today about 6 years after the breast removed she remains very healthy. She has a caring doctor that continues to send her for regular scans. So we know that there are good doctors. But we also have to ask for good care. I now have good care and feel hopeful again. All the best to you. Hugs Marlene
