Hello dear ladies,
Does anyone have any input on Taxol, it's success rate.
Hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. I spend it with my two adult daughters.
Hugs and blessings,
Sue

I'm sure you can Google it. Keep in mind that the numbers represent a rather large population of people, not just 2 or 3. With that said, you could do far better than what they say. For my hormonal only therapy, started in 2013, the published success rate isn't very good, yet here I am!
Hi there Susie,I was on 12 rounds of Taxol-every Thursday. I had it right after 4 rounds of Adrimycin/Cytoxin so it was easier, as far as chemo goes. I went to work 4 days a week (one day off to rest) and had a relatively normal life. I ate Taco Bell during infusion, oddly it made me feel good. The 16 rounds total I had shrunk the tumor in my breast and lungs, just shy of 2 years completion and I am doing good— Txs to Letrozole, Ibrance and Zodex as well.
Obviously it’s all chemo so there are days where I felt better than others. I didn’t lose my hair until Taxol started but it started growing back the days after I finished.
Not sure if I answered your question, but that’s my experience. Ask away if you are looking for more.
Take care
Tara
Taxol helped me go into remission during my first dx. Very effective!
Hi Sue, Yes, I had taxol for a few months and then switched to Taxotere because of increased neuropathy. Both helped shrink my tumors. I was on them and Keytruda, an immunotherapy drug. I used cold caps to keep my hair while on Taxol and they worked beautifully.
I had a few side effects, aches, nausea and lethargy, but rest and meds for side effects helped. It wasn't as bad as adromyacin (the red one).
