Taxol

Hi having Taxol 3 weeks on week off .

Has anyone had pain while on this usually a few days after treatment, lasting for 3 days , aches all over . Very painful at times ?

I'm so sorry about the pain, that sounds awful...

I did not experience this when I did Taxol, but found this:

"Myalgias can be defined as muscle aches. Myalgias can be a deep, constant, dull ache, or a sharp, sporadic ache. Myalgias are often a result of: Medications - certain chemotherapy medications can cause myalgias and joint pain (arthralgias), which usually resolve when the medication is removed.".

Does your pain feel like it's in the muscles/joints or, say, in the bones?

I'm thinking you should ask your doc who will hopefully have some insight and, ideally, a remedy?

I was achy all over when I had Taxol during my first dx. Talk to your onc about pain relief.

I had some joint pain, but I attributed it more to the Xgeva shot. Just had my Xgeva shot last Friday, and I've had significant achiness thereafter, so I'm figuring my pain on Taxol was more the Xgeva. I hope you get some relief. Are you in a state that allows medical marijuana? I have used that for pain and anxiety with good success. Wishing you pain free days and success with the Taxol. It's a good drug, even if it is an oldie.

I had double dose taxol years ago and now they have reduced the dosage in half. But, I did have strong peripheral neuropathy for a couple of days after being infused. I remember that well and was quite distraught. I was worried about having a permanent neuropathy issue but I did not. I do believe one of my great helps then was B vitamin andd 400mgs of Ubiqunol by Jarrow (200mgs caps), I took 400 mgs in AM and 400 in PM.
