Unfortunately the cake shop (that will be making my daughter's wedding cake) was shut on my birthday so there was no b'day cake. Look what i received today. Unfortunately too ill to eat today. Hopefully will have some tomorrow . Apparently it tastes as good as i looks 😀

It is lovely and a lovely thing for them to have done for you! I've heard of several brides freezing some of their wedding cake to eat on anniversaries and that works out well, so if you can't eat it all now, you could freeze some of it. Helps if you have a freezer and not just the freezer in the fridge! (We bought one when the local small town Sears went out of business and had a big sale.....it's surprised me how much better food frozen in it takes than food out of the fridge freezer!)

Still haven’t been well enough to eat it but my daughter and husband said it was delicious. It is Madeira cake with a butter cream and jam filling. When we went to Copperhead cakes (lady making our daughters wedding cakes) we got to taste samples of all her cakes and my daughter chose madeira for her wedding cake (my favourite too) over red velvet, chocolate, lemon etc etc 😀
