My oncologist referred me to a liver specialist in Pittsburgh, Pa They go in and burn it, there is some down time but not bad. Helena

Your moniker expresses my constant state since MBC descended upon me. I have not had a second ablation but there are vague plans to have a first. a removal sounds like a great idea, as if they are treating your MBC as if the cancer were not through your body./blood. I know so little.

Are they considering it so that it doesn't grow any more? Is that a silly question? This response certainly does not answer your question but opens the door to so many of mine.

I am of no help, just questions for you. I have a rapidly growing lesion. Affinitor was unsuccessful. I begin Xeloda today. How large are was the lesion you had abated? Was it the only lesion? ( I have two smaller ones). I'm afraid if Xeloda fails, they're going to suggest Taxol. I always swore I would never do IV chemo again.

Right now it increased from 2.5 cm to a 4.8 cm and my doctor said he can't do another ablation, but use a cathater to put radiation beads in my lesion, They are having a meeting about it. Helena
