Just to say, nearly all my tests leading up to the clinical trial have almost been completedš
Yesterday I had Blood tests, a 90 min full body mri scan, a ct scan with contrast and an ECG. Phew...
Iām back Monday for a physical examination including skin etc and may get to know which treatment I will be on - Elacestrant or standard of care. Itās just a random selection process, like a toss of a coin.
If all goes well, Iām back at the hospital on Thursday and start treatment.
We are having a family BBQ for my father in lawsās 90th birthday today. Our typical British weather which you can never rely on, is looking like it will āļø!!
Enjoy your weekend and wish you all well.

Will be thinking of you this week and hope you get the trial ... at least you will have had the benefit of all the extra tests , so thatās at least one positive already from doing a trial !
Enjoy your barbecue and time with family today ... hopefully you have the gazebo up!! š
Iām struggling with the morphine slow release...hideous side effects...feel sick dizzy and peculiar...going to stop them today...will just go back on my old routine and see doctor for advice...no point feeling so crap...Iām dragging myself round for the bbq in a bit...canāt even have a bloody drink!
Wishing you the best results on this clinical trial.
Wow, Jo, the description of your day made my knees weak! I'd literally be a weeping heap if I had all that in one day!! So glad you got through it and now comes the exciting part!
I hope you're able to enjoy your BBQ!
Lynn
Hi Jo,
It sounds like you have had a full MoT! I hope you are given the new drug, rather than standard of care treatment. You must be getting so excited at the prospect of starting the trial. I hope everything goes well for you and that you respond well to the treatment. Please keep us posted!
We are having a BBQ later on too. Hopefully the weather will hold up for you and for us. We had a heavy shower earlier. I want some cooler weather! Roll on autumn.
Way to go! I am not sure I could do all of that in one day. I would probably need to sleep two days afterwards. I hope you get the trial drug and it turns out to be a terrific treatment. Blessings, Hannah
