Hi

Mine used to do the same. Stress was the main cause. So I learned to manage it. Not easy. I know. And boost your immune system. I use soluble vit c. Every morning.

Before your bloods too.

Sleep as much as you need.

You are poorly and those drugs give you some sort of life. Mine stopped working and I’m on traditional chemo at the mo.

You have cancer. The only important person is you!! You have to make yourself priority. Mentally and physically. Good luck x

Which meds are you on and which dosage? If you are on Ibrance they can decrease your dosage from 125 to 100 and then to 75. That’s what I had to do. It seems to work just as well at the lower dosage. I’ve had 2 years on 75 because my neutrophils crashed at the higher levels. It’s better to be on a lower dose and not have to extend your time off of it.

Yes I'm on I Imbrance 125 and letrozole 2.5 .The Imbrance has been lowered after 1sr cycle . Some days I feel wretched don't even get off the sofa and sore mouth and hairloss. Can I ask how long you have been on it as it has done nothing to the tumours as yet

Many thanks for your reply

I’ve been on it for two years. You haven’t been on it long enough to adjust. The first months are hard between diagnosis shock and side effects from medication. The hair loss should slow and stop at 5 or 6 months and them maybe thicken up again. Mine was curly and got straighter and is much dryer than it was. If you are not down to the Ibrance 75, you should probably be asking about that possibility since you are still having to take extra days off. It should lessen your side effects as well. We all deal with a certain amount of exhaustion. Getting up and moving seems to help, but some days are worse than others. I have to pace myself so that I don’t get too tired but I still sew, do laundry, play with grandkids, work in my garden, cook (even if I don’t want to!). I just take more breaks.

I looked back but couldn’t see what kind of mets you have or if you are having any pain from them. Is the Ibrance causing exhaustion or more problems like nausea. The more specific you are on here, the more we will be able to relate what we know to what is going on with you. We are pretty open about sex, constipation, dry skin, husbands who are dolls or pain in the you know what! It really helps because this is our space, not our kids, husbands, or family, so we can say what we want and know it is not going anywhere but into ears that are very sympathetic. I haven’t had mouth sores but I know there have been previous posts from women with experience with them. You can search for those.

Good luck. Hugs, Elaine

I can only take the 75 mg but still need 2 weeks off in between to bounce the neutrophils back up! Fortunately the drug still seems to work. Been on it 2 years this month, and it took 2-3 months before we could see it was working . Make sure to keep drinking lots of water!

Wishing the best with it.

I always had to wait three weeks between each cycle as Ibrance knocked my neutrophils low. This is common for a lot of people.

Hello! sorry you are having a tough time on Ibrance, but I notice you are only 3 months in ... those were my worst three months and I rested a lot , and then it got ‘easier’ after about the fourth month, so hang in there !

I am 2 1/2 years on Ibrance , and I still get some tiredness at certain times of the cycle ... but I just rest when my body tells me to , and my hair did thin in the first eight months. I had it cut into a short layered bob and had a few blonde highlights put in to make it look a bit fuller . Once you get through the first 4 months , try doing some exercise daily , even if it’s just a local walk ...you will feel so much better for it !

If you need tips ., eg on dealing with mouth sores , type into the search box , as there is a lot of advice previously from ladies on here, or just post a question and someone will get back to you with helpful info .

Always make sure you are drinking lots of water ( keep a bottle with you at all times ... I even have one by my bed and will take sips if my mouth starts to feel dry at any time ). I have found increasing my regular water intake has eased many side effects ! Also take your Ibrance with your main meal ( containing protein and fat) for better absorption. Take care ! x
