CT scan done and I was impressed with the hospitals precautionary measures. No gloves allowed but they hand sanitised me and hubby and gave masks out if needed. The Scanner waiting room was well laid out and I was seen spot on time. Results will be given lst July via a telephone call from my Oncologist. Why did I have sleepless nights worrying about going? Hope everyone is ok. Really hot in Liverpool UK today. We walked an 8mile round trip to the hospital and back. Was lovely and I’m glad my appointment was early. The Post Office was empty so I popped in there and so was our supermarket. Think the heat is keeping everyone in or at the coast. Flowers to brighten our day. Best wishes

Glad it’s reduced in size.ive had something similar across my spine but it’s been there for years. In fact is got bigger over the years. My brother had same on his neck but his was operated on. It was Fibreous tissue. Oncologist will no doubt know what it is. Let is know.

Thanks Sandra. I was so worried about going there but the NHS in our area are doing the upmost to keep us safe. Just wish the public were. Yes they are Gerberas. They are gorgeous. Love the colours. Take care.

I am hiding from the heat at the moment. I was out in it earlier, and that was enough for me! I heard we are in for some thunderstorms tomorrow, so that should help cool things off a bit.

It’s so ridiculously hot Sophie. We went to the allotment at 9.00 to water and was back home by midday. It just made me feel,sick. I jumped straight in the shower then went to bed for 3 hours. Knackered. I think the long walk to the hospital and back yesterday took it’s toll. Thing is while I haven’t been going to the hospital I kinda put my condition on the back burner. The virus has been at the forefront of my mind. Going there resurrected my anxieties a bit. I just hope the three month attendance is going to be the norm. It helps with the mindset. It will be great if we get the cooling rain tomorrow.

I agree, Cheryl. I don't know how I got through today without passing out. Talk about hot and humid! I felt like I was in a sauna during my dog walks today. But I was able to find some shade under some oak trees in the local nature reserve, so that helped. You did well to walk 8 miles in this heat! I was putting some clothes on the line after I got home from work and even that was a chore! I couldn't wait to get back indoors to cool off with a cold glass of water. I heard that the weather warnings are in place from 2:00pm tomorrow, so we shall see! It is meant to cool off by next week, so I am looking forward to that. Let's hope we do get some rain tomorrow!
Sorry to hear that you felt anxious about going to your hospital appointment. I have my zometa infusion on 10th July. I'm not sure if I will be allowed to bring my husband with me. Lately, only the patient has been allowed in for appointments. I normally go on my own, but I want him to come with me next time.

Had some rain Sophie but suns out now. It’s still hot and sticky. I drunk around 3 litres of water yesterday but popped some strawberries in it to make it more bearable. I’m not a big water drinker. My husband wasn’t allowed in when I had my treatment 2 months ago. Will see what happens when I go on 15th. They call me a speedy patient because I have my jab, get my Ibrance then out again. Takes about 10minutes. I go into a side room and not the main treatment area where other patients are on a drip. Thing is if we wear our masks and sanitise our hands our husbands should be able to go in with us. It’s more comforting to know they are there. Roll on the rain. Need the cool. Take care

I was caught out in the rain first thing this morning! As I wasn't expecting it until the afternoon I didn't take my raincoat with me, and I got soaked through! I never used to be a big water drinker either until I was diagnosed. Then one of the oncology nurses said if I didn't drink 3 litres a day I would end up with kidney failure. Talk about scare tactics! So now I drink a lot more water, but there are some days when all I can manage is 2 litres. Right now, I am guzzling it down! The weather is supposed to cool off for us next week, so hopefully this is the last of the hot, humid weather. I have been having trouble sleeping. Even with the window open I have to throw off all the bedcovers or else I am too uncomfortable.
That's a shame your husband was not allowed in with you. I just called the Macmillan centre and was told that partners are still not allowed in with patients unless it's their first time, so I will have to go alone. I was hoping to take my husband with me. He doesn't normally go and I thought it would be nice to have the company. I agree that it's comforting to have them with us. When I had my first infusion I didn't really know what to expect. It was all new and I didn't want to go through it on my own. Now I go to most appointments alone, but sometimes I want the company.
I love the flowers. Hats off to you. I can't imagine walking eight miles. You are lucky you grew up with that being normal. I am too lazy. Blessings Hannah
It’s not something I do regularly Hannah but it felt good once I had got home. Wish I had more energy sometimes. Nothing wrong with being lazy. If that suits you then that’s great. Best wishes
