Update on Denosumab and Oncologist call

Hi ladies, as promised my update following my phone call with my Oncologist today. I can go to the hospital late June for my Denosumab jab. He said they wanted to keep patients away from the hospital which is fair enough. He is also arranging my CT scan for the same date I have to attend hospital in July to pick up my meds again. I told him I didn’t want to go through A&E to the CT Scanner like I normally do but he said the department was empty. He also said patients from another hospital were being brought across for scans as their department was closed due to the virus. Oh well, I will wait and see what comes through in the post as my hospital has several departments for scanning. No home visit for a jab was available. To be honest I would rather the nursing staff looked after those suffering the virus right now as who knows, if I had a home visit the nurse could have been in contact with someone they had visited in their own home.

Have a good day everyone. Another picture to make our day.

Great news about your injection Cheryl.

Sounds like your team have everything under control.

Lovely picture. Is that my neck of the woods?

It’s Wastwater. The famous screed is on the right. Yewbarrow is straight ahead of the lake. So very beautiful. Not sure where you live exactly. Just wish I was there right now. We have had such wonderful weather that it would have been beautiful. All the wild flowers and birds. Next year maybe. Yes really pleased about scan and jab although going to the hospital still concerns me but it has to be done. Best wishes

That’s the Lake District isn’t it?

I am near Snowdonia, it looks very similar.

I am sure you will get back to visit all these lovely places again.

Don’t worry about the hospitals, they are being incredibly careful about keeping Covid areas completely separate from other areas, and everything is thoroughly cleaned after every touch.

I agree. I have a close friend who has worked at our hospital for years in OR. When asked if he worried about taking the virus home to his family he said he felt safer at the hospital because everything was kept so clean. I know on my last visit 2 weeks ago, I was checked twice. Temperature taken, etc. I was impressed.

Cheers, June S.

That’s true. Hospital was empty 3 weeks ago and all the necessary checks were done. Great.

Wow. Wonderful picture. Picture perfect as they say. Where is it located. Nice with the mountains, clouds and snow caps in the background.

Regarding your injection. We have a wound care clinic where I live and I wonder if they might be able to do injections on a temporary basis. It is separate from the hospital. They are letting me get my injections at the hospital in two weeks time. Every place has different constraints.

Cheers, June S.

It’s the Lake District. We don’t have anything like your clinic here so it’s back to the hospital in June for my injection. That’s ok. I will do what the hospital say. Better to attend than not. Take care.

Well as others have said, the hospitals are being really careful to protect people having to go there. I would think you will be fine.

Cheers, June S.

Gorgeous picture! I would so love to visit that area. Maybe in a couple of years if all of this dies down I’ll feel safe to take that long of a plane ride! It’s a long ways from Oregon. Elaine

Hi, Cheryl, I am having ct scan on sat 13th June (lucky it isnt friday 13th lol) I will have to walk through hospital too, going to wear mask, at the moment hospital has discharged 200 patients who had covid 19. Then end of march having treatment zoledex and denusumab and pick up tablets. I have no idea when I'm going to speak to onc again. Good luck and all the best. Tracey
